I like Family Guy more than the Simpsons.

Yep.

Funny that people whine about Family Guy when the Simpsons hasn't been funny in more than ten years.

Neither of them are particularly funny anymore. :{

They have their moments, but... eh.

I don't watch the Simpsons anymore either.

I've tried watching an episode here and there over the years, but I can't do it. It's just unbearable.

I have hardly ever enjoyed a Simpsons episode. I just don't laugh. Family Guy is much funnier than the Simpsons personally. It may have lost it's sparkle in it's later seasons, but it is still passable and I still find it funny sometimes.

The Simpsons hasn't been much good for years, Family Guy hasn't been good at all since it came back from cancellation. Anyone who says The Simpsons has never been good, you're an idiot. Seasons 3-8 is a candidate for best TV show ever.

Yeah this doesn't interest me. Both shows are so tired.

Wow, two shows that suck crossing over. Cool.

Agreed. I was going to post that this is 10 years too late.

Man old Simpsons was the best thing ever made, the single-digit seasons are timeless classics of comedy.

Some of the early Family Guy was great too.

And now they're going to stitch the rotting corpses of both together. I may watch it out of sheer rubbernecking fascination.

But online, so as not to generate ad revenue.

I watched a few episodes of The Simpsons recently and thought they were good. They did have a really bad phase where they tried to be Family Guy though.

Regardless, I am not on board with this.

They were never good in the first place, you can't make them any better!

Exactly what Huxley said. I heard that the last season or so of the Simpsons has actually been better than the last ten years or so of the show, but I'm not sure that's enough to make me interested in watching it again.

Everyone that says the Simpsons and Family Guy were never good, you're nuts. The first ten or so seasons of the Simpsons and all of Family Guy before it was brought back from cancellation were comedy classics.

Who says The Simpsons was never good?

The more recent episodes are ok. A couple of them are reminiscent of the old days, mainly when they focus on the family and not just one character or a celebrity guest. Each one is still good for at least a couple laughs, though, which is more I can say for some shows.

Multiple people in this thread have said The Simpsons was never good. It's like I don't even know you people anymore. :doublecolbert:

I think those people are just too young to remember when it was the best show ever. I still remember watching the very first episode, and I've missed few since.

I loved, loved, loved Simpson when I was younger. It was my favourite show when I was a kid.

I loved Family Guy for a long time as well.

But both shows are just shit now, and have gone on too long. South Park too.

South Park does sometimes have good episodes still. They're becoming rarer, but they're there.

Now that I'm allegedly sober, I was never that big a fan of the simspons. I liked it, and there was a few episodes, mostly the halloween ones, that were just brilliant, but even the early seanons were never that big a hit with me.

Family guy even more so, getting some laughs from me at times but on a whole never clicked, only familly guy got really, really fucking dumb. O_O

I'm glad there are people in here who liked classic Family Guy because I did as well and it feels like anytime I ever mention it people get all snooty and "Ugh, Family Guy is SO lowbrow, I watch sophisticated comedy for sophisticated adults such as myself".

Like I'm not going to sit here and say it was the funniest show ever or anything but some of the stuff they did sent me into some pretty big fits of laughter and I'm a fan of those

You know there's a Futurama and Simpsons crossover coming too.

I think the Cleveland Show has surpassed both Family Guy and Simpsons in quality thus far, followed by American Dad and Futurama. I still enjoy Family Guy and Simpsons enough to watch them if I see that they're on, but they don't feel anywhere as fun as they used to. Same as Futurama, but that was such high quality in the first place that it's still pretty good. I like the idea of a crossover, but I agree that it's just too late. I'm not expecting it to be good, but I hope at least it isn't depressing.

The Cleveland Show makes Family Guy look like classic-era Simpsons.

Is the new Futurama good? I haven't watched it since its original run and I'm curious.

It's not as good as it was, but I still quite enjoyed it.

It's ok. I definitely lost the magic it once had.

I do think that Futurama would have been perfect if it had ended with The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings.
