My dad has a koi pond in his front yard, so every time I visit, I like to go outside and play with the fish. There are a whole bunch of them, and most of them are very colorful, so I think it's fun to look at.

Have you ever been to a fish pond or anywhere else to see some of these colorful fish? Have you dipped your finger in the water to see if the fish will try to eat it as if it's food? (It's a strange sensation, let me tell you.) Or is the only place you want to see a fish on your dinner plate?

I love koi! They're sooo pretty. I used to go to the petstore all the time when I lived in Arizona and sit and watch them swim. My next door neighbor has a koi pond in his front yard and I want to go watch them but I don't want to weird him out by going on his property and hunching over his pond to watch his fish. I would never dip my finger in a koi pond. I might not get it back!

I used to have "fancy goldfish" like the ones below. I guess they kindof count as ornamental? Maybe?

I named the recap John Wayne Gacyfish because he looked like a fish clown to me. The black one's name I don't remember, but he was a little bitch and started aggressively harassing all of my other fish.

When I was in Vietnam, on our way back to Sai Gon from Da Lat, we stopped at some garden. They had a fish pond. We stood near it:

Then we bought some food, and threw it in. Moments later:

I wanted to stick my hand in to see what'd happen, but honestly I was scared shitless by how ravenous they seemed.

I love fish. Both to eat and to keep. I worked at a pet store for a long time and my job there was basically being a tropical fish expert. I learned so much and it gave me an "aqua thumb", of sorts, so now all fish under my care stay alive for years :)

Goldfish and koi I'm rather eh on because they're filthy and require a lot more room than most people give them. Tropical fish for life. Let's go Team Cichlid, Team Gourami, Team Livebearers and so forth. Speaking of Livebearers, Mollies love to nibble your fingers the way you mentioned and it's adorable.

Never been one for fish, really. I had a cat named Koi once though, does that count?

Once Upon A Time, I had a beta fish in 1st grade. I'd gotten it for my birthday... It died. I fed it to my brother's cat. The End.

I'm not a huge fish person. They're just boring and a lot of work if you have one indoors as a pet or whatever. That's just me, though.

An old friend of the family on my dad's side (whom I called "uncle" growing up) had a fish pond like that on the back of his very nice property. Otherwise, I've never been a big fish person, at least for pets.

That is no clown. That fish is French.

I'm not a huge fan of fish as a pet; I see them more as decorative items.

If any of you get the opportunity to touch a manta ray, do it! They feel so amazing!
I also have a great video of an octopus coming out of his home and preening all over the tank, but hell if I can figure out how to get it off g+

The term ornamental fish tickles me.

Koi fish are pleasant to watch. We have a big ole pond outside work with a few of them in, plus some goldfish and probably others. It's pretty nice.

We once had a koi. Its name was Picasso, and it was clinically insane. I saved his life on three separate occasions - the most memorable of which being when he tried to SWALLOW ANOTHER FISH WHOLE and choked on it. I had to stick my fingers down its throat and pull the other fish out.

I used to live across from a botanical gardens that had a Koi Pond in it. I was always terrified of how big the fishes were...
