I'll be alternating this with my Final Fantasy IV Playthrough (http://home.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-iv/150908-lets-play-final-fantasy-iv.html) because I started watching Pokemon again and decided to start playing this again :jess:. I lost my LeafGreen though, so it was Diamond or Pearl and I've finished Diamond, but not this one.

Okay so, we start out with with my gender (girl) and starting point is

Twinleaf Town
(Varity Lake, and Route 201)

Ashton is watching a documentary about the search for the red Gyarados. Her fried, Barry, decides we should head over to Varity Lake to try and find it or some other mystical Pokemon. Well we arrive and see a older man and a younger man discussing how they see nothing and they must have been mistaken. They pass us as they leave. Barry points out something in the grass and Ashton tells him they shouldn't go in the tall grass, because they could be attacked by Pokemon. Barry says not to worry, we won't be there long enough.

So we go and see that the people have left their briefcase behind, when suddenly we are attacked by Starly! The briefcase happens to contain 3 Pokeballs and Barry and Ashton each pick one in order to defend against the Starly. The choices are TURTWIG, CHIMCHAR, and PIPLUP. I pick the PIPLUP and Barry picks the TURTWIG.

After the fight, we leave the Lake and run into the two from before. They say a few words and the younger gentleman invites me to Sandgem town. First I stop back home and obtain some Running Shoes from my mother, before heading out to Sandgem town to explain to the man why I used his Pokemon.

First Pokemon: PIPLUP

Route 201

Some fights are done/ Piplup levels up to level 7.
I receive a Potion from a random person.

Then I arrive in Sandgem Town

When I arrive, after seeing my friend Barry rush off, the young man name Lucas brings me to see the older gentleman who had the briefcase. His name is Professor Rowan and he is a Pokemon Professor. He sees that Piplup is happy with me and so he gives me the Piplup, along with a Pokedex, and asks me to help him research Pokemon.

He also allows me to name my Piplup, and so I name him Peter.

When I exit, Lucas shows me the Pokemon Center and the PokeMart. I buy some Pokeballs, Antidotes, and Potions.

I make a quick trip to Route 219 in the South of town, which I can't do much with right now, and find an Antidote.

I head back home to Twinleaf Town and speak to my mother, who gives me a Journal. Barry's mom comes in and asks me to deliver a Parcel to Barry for her. I head back to Route 201.

On Route 201, I catch my second Pokemon, a Starly. I name it Stevie.

Diamond/Pearl/Platinum are probably my least favorite of all the Pokemon games.

That being said, please continue

Oh, and I think Formalhaut's name should be reserved for a Sandshrew.

Okay so I continue on to Route 202. Lucas teaches me how to catch Pokemon, ignoring the fact that I already caught one. But on the bright side, he gives me 5 Pokeballs.

Then I catch my third Pokemon, a Shinx that I nickname Nix.

Nix
45278
Lv. 4, Male
#017
Type: Electric
Nature: Gentle

Food: Likes bitter food
HP: 17 // Atk: 11 // Def: 7 // SpAtk: 9 // SpDef: 7 // Spd: 9 //
Special Ability: Intimidate, Lowers foes Attack stat
Abilities: Tackle
Its forelegs have a muscle-based system of generating electricity. Its body shines if endangered.

After some more Route 202 traveling, Stevie levels up to level 8.
Nix levels up to level 5 and learns Leer.
Nix levels up to level 8.

Trainer Battles!!!

Youngster Tristan
45279 VS 45280

Lass Natalie
45279VS 45281
45279VS 45281

Then some more wandering around route 202.
Peter levels up to level 9.

Another Battle:

Youngster Logan
45280 VS 45279

I eventually find a Potion en route.

Then I arrive in Jubilife City, to be scolded by Lucas for only having 3 Pokemon. Whatever Lucas, it's quality instead of quantity :nonono:.

Then I make the mistake of reading the forum and seeing Rob's request for a Bidoof. So I leave Jubilife City and head back to Route 202.

Stevie levels up to lv. 9.
Nix levels up to level 9.

Eventually I manage to catch a Bidoof, and I name her Betty.

Betty
45282
Lv. 4, Female
#013
Type: Normal
Nature: Basheful
Loves to eat
Food: Eats anything (makes sense)
HP: 17 // Atk: 8 // Def: 7 // SpAtk: 7 // SpDef: 7 // Spd: 6 //
Special Ability: Unaware, Ignores any changes in ability by the foe
Abilities: Tackle
It constantly gnaws on logs and rocks to whittle down its front teeth. It nests alongside water.

So I level Betty up to catch up with the others and at level 5, she learns Growl. Eventually she reaches level 8.

I go to Jubilife City and talk with some folks. Then I enter the Trainer's School and find my friend Barry. I deliver to him the parcel and he sees that he has 2 Town Maps, so he gives me one, before rushing off again. Then I go talk to the others in the school and get challenged to 2 Pokemon battles.

School Kid Harrison

45281 VS 45283

And then School Kid Christine

45281 VS 45283

When they are both defeated, they give me the TM10, which contains the move Hidden Power.

Afterwards I talk to more townsfolk, who might as well be getting paid for all of the praise they are giving the Poketech. There's a guy who offers me one if I can find 3 clowns and answer their super easy questions. I do so, and I receive the Poketech.

I also receive a Quick Claw from a woman and buy a Heal Ball at the PokeMart.

Now it is time to go to Route 203. Once I arrive, I am encountered by my "friend" Barry who decides he wants to battle me and show off his skills. Which leads to a Pokemon Battle.
45291 VS 45292
45292 VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/diamond-pearl/normal/turtwig.png

I kick his butt and he is just shocked and appalled by this and he vows he will never lose again and rushes off to Oresomething City to get a gym badge. I guess that's where I'm headed too!

Peter levels up to level 11 and learns water sport.

I return to Route 204 and catch myself a new Budew, and I nickname him Bud.

Okay so I now decide it is time to get all of my Pokemon to level 13. I get them all up to level 12 and enter the Oreburg Gate, where a strange ban gives me the HM06 which contains Rock Smash. Wow, thanks random stranger!

Then I have some trainer battles to do.

Peter levels up to level 13.
Stevie levels up to level 13 and learns Double Team and forgets Growl.
Nix levels up to level 13 and learns Bite.
Bud levels up to level 13 and learns Mega Drain and forgets Growth.

Then I arrive at Oreburg City

I explore Route 207 (what I can) and obtain a Pokeball.

Then I catch a Machop and name him Mark :D!

Mark
45302
Lv. 5, Male
#070
Type: Fight
Nature: Lonely
Proud of its power
Food: Likes spicy food
HP: 22 // Atk: 15 // Def: 9 // SpAtk: 9 // SpDef: 9 // Spd: 9 //
Special Ability: No Guard, Ensures all attacks land
Abilities: Low Kick // Leer
Its muscles never cramp however much it trains. It lives in the mountains away from humans.

Mark levels up to level 7 and learns Focus Energy.
Betty levels up to level 13 and learns Rollout.
Mark eventually reaches level 10 and learns Karate Chop.
Mark then eventually reaches level 13 and tries to learn Foresight, which I reject.

Then I go back to Oreburg City and get a Dusk Ball and a Super Potion. I also buy some more Heal Balls and Paralyz Heals. I go to the gym and my friend Barry informs me that the Gym leader has gone off to the mines, and he tells me how he has already defeated him. Barry is seeming less and less "friend" and more and more "rival".

Then I go to the Oreburg Mines.

Trainer Fights:

Worker Mason
http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/starly.pngVS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/machop.png

Worker Colin

http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/piplup.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/geodude.png

I find a Potion and an Escape Rope. I then talk to Roark who demonstrates what Rock Smash does (it smashes rocks. No, seriously) and tells me I'll need his gym badge before it will work outside of battle, and heads over to his gym. And then I follow him.

Oreburg City Gym:

Youngster Jonathan
http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/machop.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/geodude.png

Youngster Darius

http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/piplup.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/onix.png

Finally, time to go for my first badge.

Roark send out Geodude first. I give my new Machop a shot.

http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/machop.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/geodude.png

Two hit victory. Next Roark sends out the big guns with his Level 14 Cranidos. I send in Peter.

http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/piplup.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/cranidos.png
This one is a bit more difficult. I Bubble and get him down to ~40% HP an dthen he uses Potion. A few more hits and he's down. Peter is left with ~40% HP.

Peter levels up to level 14.

Last round, he sends in Onix. I counter with Bud.

http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/budew.png VS http://img.pokemondb.net/sprites/black-white/normal/onix.png

This was a one hit KO victory thanks to Mega Drain.

Bud levels up to level 14

He then says how he can't believe he lost to me and eventually gives up his badge and throws in the TM76, which contains Stealth Rock. I now officially have the Coal Badge, my first badge!
