Long time no post, guys! I'm throwing a themed party soon based on Red Letter Media's (http://redlettermedia.com/) "Best of the Worst" series. I'm thrilled because I've always wanted to do a theme, and what better way to do it than in the style of my favorite film critics. It's essentially a movie for really, really bad films and B-list flops.

Now, my questions for you guys are:

Have you ever thrown a themed party? TELL ME EVERYTHING. :o
What is the best themed party you've ever attended?

And... any really hilariously bad movies you want to recommend? I mean

You will need to show Birdemic or you will be dead to me.

*The Killer Rye, imo. Also, The Room for hilariously bad movies get my vote.

I've never been to or thrown a themed party. :( But I would totally attend a B movie party. And I think I would love to throw an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party.

Themed parties are great. I've been to 80s themed parties, cross-dress themed parties, video games, comic and anime, toga (obviously), Star Wars, etc.

The best theme party I ever attended, however, was a simple purple theme. The theme wasn't really great, but the events that unfolded during the night and the kinds of people that attended made it amazing, and it's always fun to go out to different places in large groups all wearing the same color.

We almost attended the Cyanide and Happiness Banana Bar Crawl last year, but we had other things to do, and this year we gots no monies :(

Oh, I did go to an 80's party once. Ha. Also, a zombie prom, if that counts. I was a zombie librarian. (https://sphotos-b-pao.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/150045_1702036796535_5856099_n.jpg)

I've been to several 80's parties, a James Bond themed party, a Moulin Rouge themed party, zombie party, and my all time favorite, a white trash party. I love theme parties and wish people would throw more of them.

Are you encouraging your guests to come in costume or bring something like a food/drink/game that references on of the movies? If so you should give out a prize to whoever has the best. Nothing crazy expensive, just something really silly and novel. Favors are the best.

I don't go to or hold many parties. I like being a hermit! So unfortunately I can't give too much advice here :(

I'd love to go to a themed party though! It'd give me an excuse to dress up.

We had Promcoming in our flat once. Punch and crappy music.

It's not much of a theme, but LSP herself made an appearance.

If I had friends that weren't lame I'd have themed parties all the time.

My friends and I have a B Movie Night now and again. Not so much a party as it is a get together, but still a lot of fun. I have a whole list of horrible shit we can watch. :shiny:

Hi Rye :kaoclove:
I love your theme party, it's so cool! But I have very little interest in B- flop movies...

Mine is really generic, but I hosted a tea party with my friends since I just acquired a really wonderful Giovanni Valentino tea pot/cup set (the blue cup I used below:)

This is the kind of "Theme" I like most. Or only.

Shiny mentioning B Movie Night made me remember the one time I hosted a Bad/Cheesy Anime Dub Night (don't remember the exact name for my FB event lol), complete with potluck. Not much of a theme, but we had fun.

I want to do a board game night with my friends sometime. People need to play more board games.

Nearly every party I attend has some kind of theme. Medieval, hat, science, pop-culture, things starting with a specific letter, bands, just come as something, sci-fi, colour-specific. It's a great way to have fun.

Any "parties" I go to are simple: Pot & alcohol themed.

My BFF would have Kinect Bowling night at his apartment and we'd all hang out, but that's about it.
I don't like big parties.

I've done several fancy dress parties, we've done a "Resevoir Dogs" themed party too. I also have done stuff like "come wearing X colour or item of clothing" stuff, great fun :)

I have a friend who used to throw themed parties regularly--80s, ugly sweater, lingerie, etc. Haven't done that in at least a couple of years though. Now it's standard holiday parties... and baby showers.

Are tacos a theme? I like having taco parties.

Taco theme is the best theme.
