I want to try this steamed turtle and eel soup, but it it SOO difficult to get the turtle just right. And before you go JUDGING me, this is a delicacy, so I'm right to want to try it. >:

eel (unagi) is a thing in sushi, so it's likely that some people will have actually eaten it. not me, though.

Eel is delicious. It's a traditional part of Christmas dinner in my family (and many other Swedish households, I'm sure). Smoked is best. Mmmm!

Eel tastes revolting. It's fish-y in taste and smell to an unparalleled extreme. It's also rarely cooked enough for my taste, and is generally slimy. Doesn't help that the skin is often left on it, which is the fishiest part.

Unagi is slightly more tolerable than anago, as far as Japanese cuisine goes, but neither are good. Why not just eat fish that's actually good, like tuna or snapper?

I've had eel in sushi simply to try it but I didn't find it very appetizing. And I think I skipped out on trying it during Rantz's Christmas dinner last year.

Not a fan, would not seek out on my own terms.

I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat it if it wasn't sushi, but I'd definitely be fine trying it in another form if someone else had it/was paying!
