I've been writing a review on a visual novel I played through recently called Katawa Shoujo. I haven't organized all of my thoughts on it yet (hence "been writing"), but I can say god damn. FFVII has nothing on this.

If you haven't played it, you need to. Just trust me. It's free, even.

Katawa Shoujo (http://www.katawa-shoujo.com/)

I wasn't sure where to put this thread, but gen chat seemed a decent fit.

Edit: Wound up finishing my second draft, to give you some idea of why you should play Katawa Shoujo: http://vbalest.journalism.cuny.edu/2013/08/11/review-katawa-shoujo/

This intrigues me. And because of your review, I shall download it. I seem to be on a VN kick after all.

If you want my recommendation, start with Lily. Her story arc is pretty simple, but it provides a lot of backstory for other characters (who have more entertaining arcs, IMO. Apparently Lily is the fan favorite, but I just didn't feel it. I think the writing's at its best in Rin's and Emi's arcs).

What were you expecting?

Dammit Hanako. Dem feels.

The Internet's all "Omg we love Hanako," and I'm just sitting here like, "Meh."

I was downloading Fantasia the other night while in EoFF chat, and it was taking a long time, so I went to sleep.

I woke up and Fantasia was done, but this /\ was 50% done downloading, and I didn't ask for it...

Anybody who wants to own up to this is welcome to...
