Hello again cosplay fans or curious observers! It's been a while! But, where was the interview with the Squall winner you ask? Well it turns out there was a bit of a translation problem where the Cosplayer was Russian and they haven't responded to our requests for an interview. :(

Better late than never though, here comes your cosplay fix for August!

46229This month we'll be looking at cosplays of the lovely Aerith Gainsborough. One of the main female characters of Final Fantasy VII she is the type of character you certainly love or hate (http://home.eyesonff.com/final-fantasy-vii/148110-so-aerith.html).

Budding Aerith cosplayers have a variety of outfits to choose from ranging from Aerith's classic Final Fantasy VII look to her cuter outfits from Crisis Core and Kingdom Hearts II. Some cosplayers even choose to go for interpretations of Amano's original concept art or one of Aerith's special Dissidia outfits! For this month we'll primarily be focusing on Aerith's Final Fantasy VII outfit with a couple of alternate appearances thrown in for good measure!

Aerith is generally upbeat and joyful, often trying to cheer up her fellow party members. However she also has flirty side and demonstrates more subtle forms of savvy. Being raised in the Midgar Slums she claims to be able to take care of herself and is at times capable of doing so. When her mind is made on something she can become very stubborn and won't listen to anyone who tells her otherwise.

Will these cosplays capture her personality beyond her appearance?

I'm not really a huge fan of any of these, but I'll have to go with Narga, because I think her costume is the highest quality, and she put the most effort into being authentic (especially with her hair and eyes/contacts.)

I don't like Aeris as a character or in battle. But, I do really love her character design, so I don't mind seeing a cosplay. Can't wait til you get the next article up, Auly! :D

For me it's definitely Narga. I love the quality of the clothing, the lighting and how the picture was taken in general. And her expression was very good, I just loved it in general. Unlike Sam, I happen to like Aerith.

Special mention to Waldnymphe thought for making a very commendable second for me.

All of the Aerith cosplayers did a nice job expressing her character, including the outfits! This will be hard for me to vote.

Great to see the new edition in sight! When I think of bananas, I'm thinking monkeys and Zidane along with it... Can't wait! :)

Narga, definitely! The other ladies have done a fine job, though.

Narga's is a good photo; there's no denying it. But I feel it looks too modern, too cold and digital.

SkyNight's has got warmth, and looks like an old Instamatic.

Necro'ing my own thread. I can't get hold of Narga despite trying so the interview will be with SkyNight. :)
