Selphie's personality

Selphie's an odd bird...at one point she suggests that Vinzer Deling's message for the world is, "Everybody...peace...and love!!"

But in a scene almost immediately prior to that, she recommends blowing up Vinzer Deling's train car with a rocket launcher.

And yet she is able to accept commands and function as a soldier.

So what's the story? Is she a high-functioning psychopath or something?

She's an overly cheerful joker, both comments were jokes, and not meant to be taken seriously. She was the fun character of the group.

I don't know if that's accurate. She doesn't leave, and doesn't bring any sort of romantic or sexual discovery to any of the characters. She's more Genki Girl (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GenkiGirl) cross Cloudcuckoolander (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Cloudcuckoolander).

Selphie is one of my fav FF characters in general. She's cheerful, happy, caring, yet she can take orders and function well as a SeeD (although I really don't like using her in battle).

I imagine her with a Rikku voice, yet if she were to actually -meet- Rikku, she'd probably punch her in the face.

Rinoa has dependent personality disorder
Seifer has narcissistic personality disorder
Quistis has OCD and coupled with a type a personality
Irvine probably has some form of narcissistic personality disorder and Don Juan syndrome

and Selphie maybe also another form OCD in which one becomes emotionally attached to inanimate object
