What are your goals and achievements since A Realm Reborn restarted?

Achievements
- Got Goldsmith to L50 last night!
- Got Miner to L50
- Unlocked all one star recipes for Armourer & Goldsmith (requires high level gear)
- Got to 2.6m gil from 1.5m gil at the start of ARR.

Goals
- Get Alchemist to L50
- Get Leatherworker and Weaver to a high enough level that they can repair all my clothes instead of having to go to the Menders.
- Get Botanist and Fisher to L50
- Unlock all one star recipes for Blacksmith and Carpenter.
- Find out what the hell I'm supposed to change my broken materia into via Calamity Salvager and do it. I have a lot of high level gear stacked with materia and I have no idea what is ideal...
- Finish the main story
- Continue to grow the Fat Chocobos Linkshell & Free Company
- Continue to gain gil so I can afford the best possible free company housing when it comes out in patch 2.1! :D

Uhh. Everything is a goal for me at the moment. But, primarily, I want to focus on the following:

- Unlocking Bard
- Increasing Botanist which is actually pretty fun
- Hit Level 20 Carpentry
- Party up with more Fat Chocobos
- Continue attempting to /bow at every FC
- Have fun
- Explore an area that isn't Shroud/Thanalan/La Noscea
- Get sexy clothes

Find time out of work to log in. I was working form home on my own schedule before 1.x closed down, so I got to play whenever I wanted. Now I'm working 12+ hour days most days of the week and have been spending weekends with friends, so we'll see how things balance out.

Goals
- Get at least one craft near 20 for materia purposes and to declutter my retainer of spiritbonded gear.
- Get some gear that's not garbage.
- Keep caught up with my wife.

The latter goal is ridiculously difficult, which is almost hilarious considering I basically don't have a normal day job and she does. My wife has a single goal... WHM to 50 with the iconic gear. And she's getting very impatient with my desire to just play the game casually and enjoy things rather than poop-socking my way through the story and leveling as fast as possible.

It's a hilarious reversal since she used to get really upset in the FFXI days if I would get even a smidge ahead of her in levels. She didn't want to be left behind. But now she's the one harassing me to hurry up and get the next level for a guildhest or story point for a dungeon and has no qualms about playing plenty without me when she gets a chance.

Made Aulayna's relic weapon (well, the weapon that starts the process)... 16% chance to HQ and it HQ'ed. Very happy with myself. :D
Also, now I've got a few better gear items and a couple of materia melded, I can now make all one-star recipes using Armourer, Blacksmith, Goldsmith and Carpenter. =]

- Unlock SMN and get that to 50 too

- Got DL heavy armour (legs, not body).
- Got most of the way through the storyline, up to around L46 or so.

Current goal is trying to beat Titan Hard Mode. Already have more than enough tomes to +1 a relic. I know Titan's patterns down pat especially post-heart (and I'm running on 300ms/server lag!), but I can never get a group that can take it all the way. :(

I'm taking a slight detour on my crafting. While I had been keeping everything pretty much evenly leveled in 5 level or so increments, everyone keeps talking about Steady Hand II, so I'm just going to blaze Culinarian to 37 for that before catching everything else up. From what I hear, if you've got that and a few other skills, you'll have a virtually 100% HQ rate while leveling which I would help things along.

This past weekend I got up to Castrum Meridianum and got my ACN to level 50 and completed the last quests for SCH and SMN. I also went through and caught up on all my class and job quests for ARC/BRD, CNJ/WHM, and THM/BLM. I'm out of town for business this week, but when I get back Thursday night, my free company buddies will run the last two endgame dungeons with me so I can finally put the main story behind me and get on to hard mode primals and going after relic and darklight gear.

Short Term Goals:
Complete class quests for BTN and get level 50 BTN gear.
Complete story line.
Obtain relic for BLM.

Longer Term Goals:
Obtain relic weapons and +1 weapons for BLM, SMN, SCH, WHM, BRD in that order.
Obtain full darklight gear for BLM/SMN, SCH/WHM, BRD in that order.

After about 3 weeks of Titan Hard Mode bad groups, duty finder fails and just general annoyance - and even dropping the BRD relic quest to start the WHM one (I ended up maining WHM after saying I was going BRD xD) - I finally have a relic weapon!

My post today looks similar to BoB's. I also finished my botanist class quests and geared up for 50 (although I still need someone to meld the perception materia to hit the 320 minimum for HQ chance at unspoiled nodes). Unfortunately found out that botany--and all other gathering classes--are no longer profitable the way they used to be, which is unfortunate. Also finished the main story and started the Relic quest for BLM (and am up to the Chimera battle). I expect BoB to pull away while I'm out of town this weekend.

I sold all my broken materia III's & IV's and went from 3.3m to 5.4m in the bank. :D Still selling some of my II's and I's at a steady rate although the price of some of them has shot down. It's okay, though - the II's and I's are for Craftsmanship/Control and I can use them if I don't sell them. Other than that, finished Dzemeal Darkhold (or whatever it's called) with the help of Kukki, Danielle & Nolwe. Also had some great fun this weekend fighting Ifrit with Rostum, Val, Mike, Dara, Danielle and.. uhm... trying to remember here! Winrey, Mynerva and... was it Ari? I think it was Ari. xD So yay for all that.

Hoping to take on Chimera shortly and then start working away at the rest of the Relic quest while also helping Raine/Nolwe finish their storyline when they're on and I'm able.

As for Botanist not being hugely profitable - I have a few stacks of Rosewood I'm saving for when housing/furniture come into play. I think it may be a little better at that point!

Ding 50 for the first time and completed the main storyline quests. Now I've got access to AK, WP, and HM Ifrit, so maybe I can actually be of some use to the LS.

I hated the Praetorium, though. What the smurf was S-E thinking including so many cutscenes--and long cutscenes at that--in the middle of multiplayer content? It was outrageous! I rushed through the dialogue, barely skimming it so my pt wouldn't have to wait for me so much (they still did a lot of waiting for me) and I was cursing like a British drill sergeant all the way through for not having the luxury to sit back and enjoy the content like I could while doing non-party content.

Here's how ridiculous it was: The first action that I took in the last fight was Misery's End.

You should have dragged us along! We won't rush you, and you shouldn't be rushed on that one. The should actually force you to watch all the cutscenes... I really hate that people can start killing the final boss while you're still watching scenes. It genuinely irks me.

Switched to MRD for a while since I wasn't getting in any good fate grinding as a MNK, so one on to grind them out with.

Tanking is way more work. Like holy fuck balls.

Did my first random roulette at lvl 17 and did the caverns, and I tanked the fuck out of that place.

A made a couple screw ups, though never when it was a big deal. And I get the feeling I'm spamming overpower too much.

I'm also noticing I'm having some issues targeting who I want to target, as well I need to get faster about marking guys for the DPS.

I've hit the point on my BRD where I feel it may be counterproductive to actually get any more Myth gear. The slots I have left to improve from i80 to i90 are all pieces that would be best itemized from Extreme Primals, or Coil drops that are within reach (at least I think T4 is sorta within reach).

As a result, I'm probably going to hoard myths at this point until I get either a tank or healer to 50 where those myths could be put to better use giving me a more needed advantage.

To Chime in on Ultima versus Garuda, I definitely think Ultima is the harder fight just because there is so much more randomness. Garuda is pretty straightly scripted. But in Ultima there's a lot of stuff you can't plan for exactly.

There are random elements in Ultima? I find Ultima & Garuda to be about the same difficulty, though Garuda is overall probably more recoverable.

Cleared T4 on Sat (or Sun?) after much suffering then again yesterday with only a couple of wipes! I don't want to say we have it in the bag just yet but we got so much better at it.

To Chime in on Ultima versus Garuda, I definitely think Ultima is the harder fight just because there is so much more randomness. Garuda is pretty straightly scripted. But in Ultima there's a lot of stuff you can't plan for exactly.
There are random elements in Ultima? I find Ultima & Garuda to be about the same difficulty, though Garuda is overall probably more recoverable.

Positioning of Ifrit, magitek lasers, etc. are somewhat more random than anything in the Garuda fight. Nothing crazy, but just enough to give people grief. There's really nothing like that in the Garuda fight. You don't have to be immediately reactive to anything in the fight. You just need to go exactly where you need to go every time and nothing is going to suddenly make you run somewhere else.

Hah! I did the same thing my first time through, and with a Mor Dhona /shout PUG nonetheless. I got my comeuppance when I finished off my white mage and actually had to learn the fight, though. Now I can basically do Titan HM & EX in any role in my sleep, but I still enjoy doing them when I'm with a good group.

I've had a particularly rough time at Atma farming. I got some on accident early on. I went 1/1 on one randomly while doing the main story. I much later got one 1/3. My 3rd I got while doing my daily quests. But then... it took me 16 hours across 3 days to get my drop in Southern Thanalan. I'm currently around 5 hours in Upper La Noscea without a drop.

I've never posted here!

Thanks to the time, dedication and patience of my besties Mayrissa, Ellanelle, Yearg/Chal, and many other PUGS and PF'ers along the way, Vin and I have finally downed Titan X and Ifrit X. It was not pretty!

With that reward, I ditched Bard relic quest and picked up an Elfin Bow. Better for me anyway, as it's ARC/BRD and I do many solo/duo things with just Archer. :)

i've obtained the Forager's mining and botany tool, and the hat. I've obtained the new crafting spectacles and lazily progressing on my HQ silver brocades. :redface:

9?/12 Atma... this is a slow, unfocused effort but it shall progress!

What's next? Who knows! Let's have fun!

So I've been melding a few pieces of my crafting gear here and there. On a whim I decided to do my earrings.... then my neck.... then belt.... then bah @#$% it, I've got 2m, let's do this thing!

Was looking up info about getting my WVR Master book and heard that it's easier to aim at your Artisan specs with CUL, so I decided to do that. Super fast and easy, so I kept going and made another 50 HQs for my Artisan's Frypan.

Apparently the crafting melds are a lot more friendly than the gathering melds. Probably gonna go ahead and end up knocking them all out sooner than I thought.

I succeeded in taking a week break after playing mostly non-stop during my week of vacation. Then I wanted to play tonight, but I don't own a PC copy and the PSN is down for maintenance.

ACHIEVEMENTS - it's been some time since I posted my goals & achievements list, so this covers about four months or so.
- Completed T1-3 of Coil.
- Got Warrior Relic, +1'ed it, Atma'd it, done most of the first book for Animus.
- +1'ed my Holy Shield and Curtana and have four Atma for 'em.
- Got all my i90 gear for PLD/WAR, and got a fancy body piece and unweathered it.
- Finished the remaining quests for my L50's (Botanist, Carpenter, Leatherworker, Weaver).
- Materia'd every one of my crafts now, and have the i70 tool for BSM, ARM, GSM, CRP, ALC & CUL and can therefore craft three star recipes for all of these jobs.
- Got desynth on ARM up to about 60-70 and GSM to about 77. Managed to get a Battlecraft Demimateria III, a Mastercraft Demimateria and 2x Fieldcraft Demimateria III so far.
- Defeated Moggle Mog
- Defeated Gilgamesh
- Defeated Crystal Tower
- Managed to somehow retain 4m gil through all of the materia-ing I've had to do for my various crafts.

GOALS
- Get another eight Atma for my PLD.
- Keep churning out Fieldcraft Demimateria III.
- Get all 80 retainer sale slots filled again (I've not been keeping up lately).
- Finish the book for my Bravura.
- Defeat the various HM dungeons.
- Get my LTW i70 tool. And my WVR... maybe. If I can be bothered.
- Improve the amount of materials in my retainers, particularly wood, metals and fleece/cloth.
- Start focusing on boosting my gil again so that I can encourage everyone to restart The Cause for large FC housing.
- Maybe take on Garuda Extreme again, it's been forever. Never beat her.

I ran through Sastasha today on my Conjurer. Running it as a tank when I first played a year ago or so just stressed me out way too much that I've not wanted to run dungeons (which is a problem considering I want to continue the story). I finally just took the plunge and tried out healing because I don't really want to just be a dps person like I was when I played WoW. Dungeon went smoothly and it was pretty fun. Ready for Tam Tara now when I have time for it!

- Crafted 176 items of gear for a Spiritbond run. Took me waaaaay longer to craft than to spiritbond, which with our party took about 30 minutes or so for all 176 items to be turned into materia. xD
- Managed to raise between 15-20m of a Large House, and with the help of the rest of the FC (notably Lumos & Vin 10m each) we bought a freakin' large house! Yesssssssssss~
- Defeated Brayflox HM. Yes, I'm that late.

GOALS
- Get my LTW i70 tool. And my WVR... maybe. If I can be bothered.

Since this post I've got my Job and I'm now a Lv.44 DRG. Tomorrow I carry on with the story quest as the next was locked until 44, and I believe I'm getting close to Garuda. So the aim now is to just aim towards 50 and push through the remainder of the story / Job quests :D look forward to having me some Lv.50 armour!

- Crafted some nice L55 gear for my DoH.
- Retainers all levelling up slowly but surely.
- Organised my items between 8x retainers now that I have paid for more.
- Completed 2.x storyline, HW MSQ + most HW sidequests.
- i146 or something on WAR, including an i180 weapon. That's really good for me! :)
- Defeated T4 of Coil (some time ago, that).
- Unlocked DRK & MCH.
- Hide & Seek Day was a massive success!
- So much farming. So much grinding.

- Close off more sidequests so there aren't so many exclamation marks all over the place...
- Start selling gear on my retainer again.
- Keep pushing that airship for the FC until we get all the things! :)
