Lalafell, Miqo'te, Roegadyn and Hyur rejoice! Square Enix revealed today that players currently playing FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn on the PlayStation 3 will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version free of charge! Obviously a PlayStation 4 is required to play the PS4 version which carries a hefty price tag of it's own but this is still a pretty sweet detail for PS3 players. No word as of yet if PC users will be able to make the switch free of charge but our prediction is: unlikely.
In the same announcement Square Enix also revealed that the Beta Test for the PlayStation 4 version of A Realm Reborn will being on February 22nd, 2014. Further details such as sign-ups will be announced at a later date.
