When I think of my favorite acoustic version of a song, the first thing that comes to mind is Everlong by Foo Fighters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgMkST2rUR8).
I like hearing alternate versions of songs that are loud and/or fast or involve a lot of different instruments and seeing how they work in a (often times) slower melody with a single instrument. I dislike when the song is changed for the sake of an acoustic version. :stare: (example, Placebo - Every You and Every Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-1rOpoecFY))
Some other favorites~
Alkaline Trio - Every Thug Needs a Lady (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69d8JtwTgUQ) - My favorite Alkaline Trio acoustic version of any song.
Alkaline Trio - Emma (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuSSf0Wk1tg) - A perfect example of how Matt and Dan's harmony works so well together.
Alkaline Trio - Private Eye (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBJpzJwqTKw) - "this song's for Dexter"
Brand New - The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6D3Bk0W2Ac) - aaaah I melted when I first heard this
Metric - Help, I'm Alive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1pCOR9Rv9M) - completely haunting.
Panic! At the Disco - Lying (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owk5YXluv9M) - I love acoustic Panic! songs because they show just how amazing Brendon Urie's natural voice is.
Panic! At the Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPMzRAqrv9o)
Panic! At the Disco - Nine in the Afternoon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuV1zXXF9zg)
Shiny Toy Guns - You Are The One (http://youtu.be/X_Ow61kwVRQ) - The whistling freaked me out at first, but they came through.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DTb9MH3-Wo) - A regular fixture for my acoustic playlists.
