and general Wes Anderson Appreciation Thread. The trailer was just released this month, so I thought it warranted a thread :jess:

The Grand Budapest Hotel releases March 7th of next year and I could not be more excited for this film!

The cast list is just to die for. Voldemort as a hotel manager! Usual suspects like Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman are included, among some new faces like Jude Law, Saoirse Ronan and Ralph Fiennes. I really like that he's been using Tilda Swinson, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton and Jeff Goldblum more. I think the only thing that would make this cast list an absolutely perfect home run for me would be if he included Anjelica Huston and Cate Blanchett (sorry, Luke Wilson). I am particularly fond of Adrien Brody and his role in this looks great, and Jason Schwartzman of course has a place in my heart.

A friend of mine who initially showed me the trailer said that he thought The Royal Tenenbaums put such an emphasis on hotel wait staff and that he hoped Anderson would release a film about it one day. The thought had never occurred to me until then, but I guess it makes sense now that I think about it.

As for the general appreciation of Wes Anderson, The Royal Tenenbaums is and will always be my favorite film of all time. Rushmore and the Darjeeling Limited tie for second place, probably, but this upcoming film could shake that up. Moonrise Kingdom was great, Life Aquatic is great and Fantastic Mr. Fox is great. I will admit that I have never seen Bottle Rocket.

Royal Tennenbaums will always be my favorite, probably. Rushmore is a close second, and Darjeeling Limited is a close third. Everything else is almost interchangeable for me depending on my mood.

Anyways, this movie looks great! I can't wait to see it, though I probably won't get to see it in theaters.
