Welcome members to the start of what is bound to be the best Karaoke Contest EoFF has ever seen! Over the next two weeks, I want you all to sing your hearts out for me and my team of judges, and your fellow forum goers to see who is the Top of EoFF Pops!

Over a series of musical rounds, hopefuls will be eliminated until only the best singer remains! It's all rather easy in fact.

For now, I am taking names to join in the contest, I want to see as many of you as possible to get involved, nothing to be shy about! We're all friends here and we want to hear you!


RULES/GENERAL COMMENTS





No auditions necessary! Anyone can join in!
You MUST have signed up in order to be involved in the contest, but if you didn't sign up and just want to sing a song that round, feel free - however it won't be judged.
If you miss a round, you're out!
You don't have to be an amazing singer to participate, rounds will be judged on both vocal ability and the entertainment factor too.
No cheating! No using auto-tune or other vocal enhancements in your entries.
Don't steal music! Don't enter someone else's work and try and pass it as your own, it's not fair and ruins the fun for everyone involved.




Sign ups will be open for 3 days only.

The first set of rounds will commence on Friday and run through to Sunday.

Yeah vocaroo isn't so good for recording singing, I recorded on my laptop as well, then I uploaded to vocaroo, it didn't lose too much quality that way.

The saddest part about this is that sometime ago I lost my instrumental tracks from when I performed in Beauty in the Beast. I'm pretty sure I had something like that to practice for when I performed in the musical in high school(not that I did much singing. I was the guy at the beginning that yelled "Marie! The baguettes! Hurry up!" Essentially, I was the most important part of the whole story.)

On that note, does it matter if we strictly stick with songs that appeared in the movies/shows/whatever, or could we use songs that were exclusive to the Broadway musicals?

I spent about fifteen minutes today putting together a horrible abomination. In it, I try to do different voices for different characters. I'm known among my friends for being the absolute w-orst at impressions. All my voices just sound like me, and even then, one character could sound different every time he or she sings/speaks. Also, me trying to do that ruined the singing. It also didn't help that it was a song I haven't heard in years.

All in all, it's a beautiful thing.

Hopefully, I'll have time tomorrow to do something that won't destroy your ears. Even if I do so, I'll probably share this one anyways just because. Get excited/be afraid for what's to come.

Dropbox is being a jerk and not letting me listen to Jinx's song. Oh well.

Loony Bob gets my first vote. This is partially because Be Prepared is one of my favorite Disney songs of all time, but I think he did a good job with the song as well. His voice kind of suits Scar, and the hyena parts were fun.

Pantz is my other favorite, but he is exempt. I'll give Noxy my other vote.

As a side note, just for fun I'm probably going to sing the song I wanted to do after I recorded On the Open Road. As it was, I only had fifteen minutes to put together the one I had and didn't really have time to attempt a different song. I'll probably sing it and post it tomorrow.

I took the approach to just do my rap immediately after waking up this morning in one take. It's awful and full of mistakes. What's worse is that even if I practiced for hours and kept trying to record, I guarantee it wouldn't be better.

There's no need to get upset or rude, Locky. People appreciate the hand you've had in running events and contributing to the site - but it's been almost three weeks since your last post in this thread, so it's not surprising that people might be getting impatient, or at least curious if they've heard nothing from you as the host.

I mentioned in chat yesterday that I thought we may be having something of an event/participation burnout - in the last few weeks we've had Karaoke, Ciddies, Post Secret, the server move, Candy Canes, Secret Santa and the Christmas Card Exchange, EoFF's Anniversary, brainstorming around fundraising, the EoFF Timeline, and now we have people signing up for Eyes on You. It's a lot of activity for anyone to take on during a major holiday season, let alone volunteering to host two major events mostly by yourself that seem to have lingered on unfinished as a result.

It's great that members are so excited in participating, and it can be difficult for anyone to balance seeing things through to completion with having a life and dealing with other commitments. Everyone's time is important, but if people are actively contributing to an event that you are running, then you need to honour that. It doesn't take much effort to pop in and say "Sorry I'm tied up with things, but I haven't forgotten about this and we'll resume activity in a few days", or ask to delegate your responsibilities - and it doesn't take much on the other end to be a bit understanding that people have lives outside of EoFF, either.

While I agree it's good to know what the intentions are for restarting, sometimes asking what the intentions are for restarting is better than saying "Shouldn't you be doing this now?".

I guess what I'm trying to say is Merry Christmas! Let's just be happy and look forward to when it starts up again. :D
