A Realm Reborn is coming to PS4 in April 2014!

The gates are about to swing wide open for a new batch of adventures to join the world of Eorzea. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn officially launches on the newly released Playstation 4 in April 2014!

Before it is actually released, as we know, there will be a beta test. This testing phase will start February 22, which is the same day the console is launched in Japan. Producer Naoki Yoshida stated that players who purchased the Playstation 3 version of the game can upgrade to the Playstation 4 version for free. However if one was to switch over the Playstation 4 version they would be unable to go back as they would be giving up their rights to play the Playstation 3 version of the game.

So if you're unhappy with the Playstation 4's version you can't go back! How about dem apples? Are you excited that ARR is taking the step into the next generation? Do you own a Playstation 4? Will you be getting one to play this beautiful game on a system that will have improved graphics from the Playstation 3 version? Sticking with the PC version?

I can't imagine how the PS4 version could be worse than the PS3 version, so I think it's pretty great that they give you the option of a free "trade-in" of sorts.

You have to be online at the same time as one of the leaders in the linkshell to receive in an invite. Until you are invited, you won't be able to click Linkshell in the menu, I believe.

This was my first thought, now I can get a score of over 7k on the benchmark I am eager too see what the game looks like when I return.

I am surprised you dislike PUG, back in 1.0 it was my favourite class to play as, and was edged out by PLD with 2.0.

Hmm, I really didn't like playing the beta on PS3 as it was just soooo awkward for me, but maybe the PS4 can run it better, who knows.

I'll get it, assuming I have a PS4 by then. I like being able to sit down and do some stuff from my couch, and I'm not interested in bringing my PC into my living room. and I don't like the PS3 graphics all that much.

I'm surprised people don't like playing with a pad, I personally prefer having a pad to play with the keyboard just to chat with... unless you mean the awkwardness stemming from chatting on the pad?

Aside from that, when Yoshi said it would be the same as playing the game on maximum settings does he mean as it is now and that we will be getting a graphical update via DX11 or that it will be the same as the updated graphics version... this is what I really want to know.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean when I talk of a need for a keyboard when playing on consoles. The point of an MMO (for me) is to be social and play a fun game with other people, not to solo for life.
