Support EoFF by using the following links when purchasing things from Amazon!

For general Amazon shopping
US: Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more (http://www.amazon.com/ref=as_li_ss_tl?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=eyeonfinfan01-20&linkId=QGKSEB4YUBLKZ53W)
UK: Amazon.co.uk: Low Prices in Electronics, Books, Sports Equipment & more (http://www.amazon.co.uk/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&linkCode=ur2&tag=eyeonfinfan-21)
Canada: https://www.amazon.ca/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=15121&creative=390961&linkCode=ur2&tag=eyeonfinfan05-20

By using these links when going to Amazon to buy pretty much anything, you're helping support EoFF (it won't cost you any more than it would if you didn't use the links, so it's benefiting EoFF without impacting your wallet). Starting at 4% and potentially up to 10-25% of each item purchased, EoFF can profit up to £7 per item you buy through Amazon. Supporting this place will take a chunk of money out of my account each month and one of the first things I learned when checking over the information from the old owners of EoFF was that EoFF is not making a profit... if we carried on, we'd be making a pretty crap loss, actually. So if you still have any Christmas shopping to do, or just happen to need to use Amazon for whatever reason... please use these links!

There is no cost to yourselves (other than the price of what you were buying on Amazon), of course, so hopefully you'll do so in future and allow me to continue to be able to live life without the fear of being murdered by Danielle for spending a lot of money on something that will cost us even more money every month. >_>;

I don't understand what you're saying - are you personally financing hosting and other costs for EoFF? Your whole post was written as if you were either very tired or very excited - which is to say it could be more cohesive. It sounds like there may be a major announcement or something else in another thread, so I'm going to go look for it.

I just want to say that, while I won't see most of the cash for a fair while yet (due to the nature of how Amazon.com, or American Amazon, works with international payments)... you guys have paid for about quarter of a month of hosting already, with more orders yet to ship (it only adds them in once shipped). :D Thank you all so much!

EDIT: Oh, and rather than stickying this thread, I expect that there will be ads and/or permanent navbar links at some point regarding this. We're only going sans advertising at EoFF for a short while as we figure out our upcoming server move (expected to go ahead on Sunday).

Loony BoB
12-18-2013, 08:16 PM

Calliope
12-18-2013, 08:59 PM
If there's no "cap" and you're not in a hurry, I'd just let it sit and build up for a while before snagging that cheque. There will be a boost for Christmas, sure; but people order stuff on Amazon pretty regularly and the more time goes on, the more likely people are to find out about this if they've been away for a while.

Loony BoB
12-19-2013, 10:36 AM
I think I have it set for $200 at the moment.

EDIT: On a sidenote, some really weird things have been bought on Amazon.com. I can't check Amazon.co.uk because Danielle got my Christmas presents through there and I'm pretty sure I'd know which ones they were if I looked at the list, even if I can't tell who orders what. I won't reveal what has been bought because they could be presents for other EoFFers. :o Remarkably few video games, I'll say that much.

Loony BoB
12-12-2015, 11:20 AM
Sadly not. But you can add the link to your favourites so it should pop up at the top whenever you start typing in Amazon. That's about as good as you can get it!

And yeah, still getting people buying stuff. About £40 worth of funds from the UK site this quarter, which pays for just over a month of hosting, so that's good. Google AdSense also generates a similar amount on average, I'd say.

What I've just found out, though, is that my Amazon.com one has been CLOSED for some reason. D: Dubya tee eff. I'll have to look into that. That's a bummer. A little research suggests this happens often and is usually something to do with tax stuff, but that's a bit weird considering I am a UK resident and have all my tax information detailed on the associates site for both .co.uk and .com.

I just want to thank everyone who uses these links. I have taken the decision to remove Google Ads from EoFF indefinitely. This will mean faster load times and less risk of bugs/infections from problematic ads.

Notably, this is despite EoFF not turning a profit of any kind whatsoever. I just happen to be able to afford to run EoFF with my wages and felt like this is the right thing to do. For anyone who is wanting to help me out, just use those Amazon links when you buy anything. It doesn't require any advertising at EoFF, it doesn't cost you anything, and when used by enough people it actually helps more than Google AdSense does.

I probably get about two months per year paid for purely through people using these links and not costing themselves a penny (just costing Amazon). Kudos. It's the only income EoFF generates these days, everything else is outta my pocket because Google Ads were making EoFF lag too much for my enjoyment.

Are you still getting stuff from the US amazon, or did the link change yet again?

I use the US one to buy stuff occasionally, if you need a baseline to judge if its still coming through.

Honestly, I set my Amazon favourite link to EoFF years ago and I've just forgotten all about it.

I honestly need to set the BF's to it. We usually order on his account cause his has prime. We order sooooo much shit from amazon I'm pretty confident we alone would pay for a few months in a year.

I got a cheque for US and my very first one for Canada about two or three months ago so they are going good! I like to think maybe just one or two Canadians slowly bought enough all on their own to generate that Canadian one. It got set up on day one of this thread and had to generate 100 Canadian dollars to trigger the cheque, so that's probably 2000 dollars spent to get that much over however many years.

EDIT: Four years!

Well, I just spent almost three grand on using that link, so hopefully you'll get something for it.

Yeah, lol. I'm moving in a few months, and due to some logistics, taking my full tower desktop isn't a great idea.

Just thought I'd say thanks to the people who still use this. The site costs a bit over £40 per month to keep hosted and this is the only way EoFF makes money, so those who are using these links help mitigate the impact on my bank account. I just got £60 from those who use Amazon.ca, which is the first payment I've received in quite a while - I've not received a payment from the .com address since April 2018 ($133) and UK has provided me with about £70 this year too. So if anyone wants to know a way to help out, just use the links under the Amazon drop down when you buy from Amazon and I'll get a little back in!

Spent on EoFF (Linode hosting) this year: About £500
Earned from EoFF (Amazon) this year: About £130

Definitely not after handouts or anything, and I don't want to use ads after they gave us trouble earlier on (Google Ads in that case), so I won't (and definitely won't give in to the dozen people who keep emailing me every month about their "partnerships" which involve posting their articles full of dodgy advertising). But if anyone wants to buy stuff from Amazon, just use the links and I'll appreciate the helping hand that won't cost you anything, as the prices will be the same for you, but I'll get a referral fee. Cheers again to those who still use the links after all these years! You make me happy.

Wait, you're not getting anything from .com? I've been using the eoff link almost exclusively. Will have to check it again.

Edit: Yep, I just checked, using the correct address. Wonder what's up with that.

It needed to add up to $100 before it sent me the cheque in the past, just found they (finally) allowed international bank transfers now which is awesome because it's £28 to bank an international cheque (ridiculous!) at my bank. But yeah, the .com one has got up to about $80 or so at the moment, going up by about $3-5 a month for a while, so it's definitely still working if you're using it. :D I thank you!

£28 To cash an international check? That's highway robbery. Holy crap, can't Amazon direct deposit the money or something?

They can now! It must have changed some time in the past year because every year or so I get a cheque and get annoyed and check if they can do it and every time up until now they haven't been able to. Great they can now!

And yeah, my bank sucks for international cheque deposits apparently.

Just ordered all my Christmas presents on Amazon using this. Bear in mind though I hate my family so I’ve not spent a huge amount.
