PSP sprites are adorable!

It wasn't until I watched dr unnes play through using the PSP version of this game that I realized how adorable the sprites were.

So now I've decided that the PSP version has the best sprites for ff1. Yah I said it.

Good point. I didn't think about how they look on the actual 2D background. On their own though they're pretty well made.

I'm not a huge fan of the PSP version's sprites, actually. I prefer the ones from the WS, PS1, and GBA versions. Still, they're pretty adorable.

I like them better than the original, but they could have been done differently too. They are an improvement with room for some more improvement. ;)

I'm not a fan, if I'm honest. I didn't mind the Dawn of Souls designs. I can't quite put my finger on why. They look a little amateur-ish. Not in the sense that they're done badly, but they just look like they should be in someone's RPG Maker game.

To be honest, when I first saw the videos of the IOS version of Final Fantasy V I figured it must have been fan-made somehow. I'm probably just not appreciating the work that went into it, though.

THey're called cell because they still use a cellular network, and they're called phone because it's easier and faster to say than "communication device".

Well, the sprite style isn't exactly the smartphones' fault. Personally, I mostly play on my GBA emulator on my smartphone.

Do I wish I had physical keys to control the games? Yeah, but sometimes you have to compromise.

Anyway, I also think the ios versions of FFV and VI (saw a screenshot on Kotaku) look terrible.

As for the PSP version of FFI? Great all around! I also really loved the same type of polished treatment FFIV got on the PSP.

No thought. You are right. I'm really dreading FFVI remake now. FF1 PSP is very nice compared to other remakes they have worked on. We need to send someone from eoff to work in the FF department at Square. I nominate Dr Unne. Pssst please help them on VI before they finish this phone remake!

I've always liked the PSP sprites for the older Final Fantasy remakes. They look really nice, detailed, and polished up yet still exude that retro classic RPG aura.
