Yeah, while I might trust some companies to deliver value on faith, SE isn't one of them.

My guess:
Just Cause 2
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Final Fantasy 7
and
Tomb Raider.

£5 for 4 random games seems alright. Lets see what comes with it.

Yeah, while I might trust some companies to deliver value on faith, SE isn't one of them.

Agreed. That and I own or have rented a fair few Square-Enix games available on Steam already including The Last Remnant, Hitman, Just Cause 2 and Final Fantasy VII, in fact other than FF VIII and Tomb Raider I can't even think of four more games I'd want of theirs.

Sods law says all four games on this box will be what I already own, and probably really old games like the first two Deux Ex games which have little face value even as gifts. So yeah, my faith in SE to give me not only good value for money but game i don't already own is also pretty low.

It's a pretty good deal. My concern is that I already own a couple of Square games on Steam, and I expect at least one of them (Hi Last Remnant) will be one of the four random games.

Those are apparently the specs required for Tomb Raider.

Don't knock the original Deus Ex or you might end up banned by Pike or Mister Adequate.

Europe only means I don't get two trouts about this. Nobody smurfing loves Australia :(

This isn't on the table for me because I'm a no good rotten American who butchers your language, get phrases wrong and rename your sports and stuff, but even if it was I'd be hesitant to take anything that doesn't say what's in the package. It just screams, "These are most likely games you either own or will never play, give us your money!"

Very well. Us Americans are easily frightened but we'll be back and in greater numbers.

So the Christmas box was opened! http://eu.square-enix.com/en/blog/time-open-square-enix-christmas-surprise-box

"A couple of weeks ago we decided to try something new, and put together something we called the Square Enix Christmas Surprise Box – a mystery collection of digital PC games for one low price of £4.99/€6.99… but anybody that bought it had to wait to see what was inside!

Wait, that is, until now – because it’s time to unwrap the box to see what’s inside! Well, here we go:

Just Cause 2 (RRP £9.99/€14.99)
Hitman: Blood Money (RRP £6.99/€8.99)
Tomb Raider (RRP £29.99/€49.99)
Dungeon Siege III (RRP £9.99/€14.99)

Plus, we also dropped in a 20% discount voucher* to put towards purchases in the future. In total, that’s an RRP of £56.96/€88.96... and the beauty is that, if you already have any of those games, you can gift the Steam keys to your friends or family!

Just so you know, the codes will be sent via email today (Friday December 20), but in case anything goes wrong you can also access them via your Square Enix account page at some point today."

Pretty happy, dont have any of those game :D

I feel like I dodged a bullet somewhat, I already own Just Cause 2, rented Hitman on the PS3 and didn't enjoy it, I have little interest in Dungeon Siege and Tomb Raider was the only game I would have wanted and I get the feeling Steam will try to one-up Square Enix by selling it for £4 on its own at some point during their winter sale.

The only game on that list I recognize is Tomb Raider. I see people are already complaining about the fact they're all Eidos game and not a single RPG is in that package.

Nah, I think by RPG they meant Final Fantasy. Or they don't know what Dungeon Siege is, wouldn't surprise me I was browsing the comment section.

Dungeon Siege is an Excellent game imo, really glad I got it to be honest, saying people don't know what it is doesn't really surprise me, but the level of customisation in it is really great imo.
