When do you finish work/school for Christmas?

Due to moving departments at work I royally messed up my working hours over Christmas, so I have Sunday 22nd off and... that's it until Christmas Day. I then have the 29th and 30th off but I'm working new years eve and day, so all in all it's relatively sucktacular.

How about you guys?

Our offices are closed December 24th, December 25th, December 31st and January 1st. If you want more time off than that you have to burn vacation.

I get Christmas day itself off... and that's it.

I'm working 14 hours total on my birthday, Dec 22... :-/ They won't let me have it off and I'm doing a split shift.

I'm already off University! Ended the 13th December. I have no work to do over Christmas either, so.. I'm back on EoFF! I mean, I'm no longer busy.

Some people aren't so lucky though, I know.

Last year I worked on Christmas for the first time, and it was a lot of fun! I like Disneyland on Christmas day.

This year I'm on leave though. Don't wanna miss bub's first Christmas.

Already used up all my holiday for the year so I'll be one of the few in on Christmas Eve, but I don't really mind because other coworkers have children and I don't, so if someone has to be in it may as well be me :monster:

I'm all done with all my paid client work for the year! :excited: Still doing misc stuff like blogging and marketing and emailing, but none of it is very pressing or on a deadline. So that means I get to play games and go on Pinterest (which I haven't done for ages!!) and post on EoFF.

Buuuut, I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet so there's that monster to deal with. :stare:

My last day of work is Monday, and we've done all of our Christmas shopping. Today I will send out the last of my Christmas cards. Tonight we are going to hand print wrapping paper and wrap our gifts, and make cookies!

At my job last year, we got Christmas Eve through New Year's Day off and it was fucking amazing.

This year I just get Christmas Eve Day and Christmas off, but I'm happy with that.

I opted to work up to and including Christmas Eve, because I'm a crazy person. I don't go back until the 6th January or something after that, so it's all good in the end.

My last day is on the 20th Dec, and the office is closed until 6th Jan, so I'm lucky on that count.

But I don't get paid for the time off, so I'm unlucky on that count.

But it doesn't count as any of my personal holiday days, so I'm lucky on that count.

In the six years I've worked at the mall, this is the first time I didn't ask for Christmas Eve off (which is my grandma's birthday and my family honestly makes this day a much bigger deal with the whole family than the actual Christmas day). Funnily enough, this is the first time in six years they've actually given me Christmas Eve off.

So, I'll not be working Christmas Eve and Christmas day, and that's it.

Good thing we close on christmas eve on 5pm and then have 25th and 26th off :D and because we simply dont have enough work after christmas, I dont have to work much until the new year. One afternoon i think :D

My boyfriend informed me yesterday, as he turned off his alarm and rolled over groggily, that he has decided that 'I'm starting my Christmas vacation now. I'll go back to work like....the 6th of the new year. Yeah."

So now that's what is happening. I'm not complaining! I start school in January so I'm really happy we'll get to spend a ton of time with one another until then but it makes me extremely envious that he has a job where he can do that.

I'm the low man on the totem poll at my office and I live locally, so I was not able to use any vacation time this year. But I do have the state holidays off, so I'm off the 24-25th, and 31-1st. I also got a colleague to cover for me over the 30th, so I at least have a long weekend.

It doesn't even really feel like Christmas yet because I've been so busy with work. I still need to finish up my Christmas shopping.

I'm a student without a part time job, but i may plan to work on 1st January to count objects in a store,
I plan to work in summer though, i usually work every summer :)
19th december started my vacation. So far i am really enjoying it, just relaxing ^^

I have two weeks off of work this month between switching jobs so that's pretty awesome too.

Turns out that I didn't get the 2nd January off because I am a tit, but did get the 3rd off. Opted to just go back to work from the 2nd onwards. Yay one day extra leave. Well, technically two because I also get a day in lieu for working a bank holiday.

Fair enough, that happens quite often at my work place. We're supposed to give four weeks notice but most don't bother, I know I won't when the time comes to switch jobs.

"Uh, tomorrow. Heck, right now if you like, just lemme call my now ex-employer."

Good luck in the future though with a new job, a fresh start is definitely what's needed.
