If rumours are to be believed the Steam Winter Sale is due to start tomorrow (December 19th), so what are we all hoping to pick up this holiday season?

Although it probably won't go on sale, I'm interested in the DayZ standalone mod. It's currently £20 in the UK which is slightly too steep for me, if it were to be 33% off i might be tempted. The same goes for Final Fantasy VIII, but that'll need a 50% drop in price to convince me to get it now.

Other than that it's a case of getting stuff on my wishlist, which includes Anno 2070, Company of Heroes 2 and a few Sims expansions I'm missing.

How long is it planned to last? I'm wondering if it will affect The Longest Journey games that has just been brought to my attention.

January 4th it's scheduled to finish (again, rumoured) but obviously we'll know for sure tomorrow.

The Longest Journey games should be on sale, I think it was during the last winter sale I picked up both of them for a nominal fee. I haven't put much time into either though, I really should rectify that.

They're already pretty cheap as it is. The first one is only $9.99 and the second is $19.99 and they have them together for only $24.99, but I'll never complain if I can get them cheaper.

According to my transaction page I got them both in the Summer 2012 sale for £3.74. Which is what, $5? So yeah, hold out for the sale.

I've already grabbed 3 games in the last week. I don't know what I'll be looking for once the actual sale starts! Maybe FF VII & VIII will be on sale!
