I bought a 4-pack of Skullgirls (http://skullgirls.com/) (a fighting game) a couple months ago and then learned that all of my friends already have a copy, so I still have two extra copies. I decided it would be a good present for EoFFers.

Rules:

1. Write me a limerick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limerick_(poetry)) or haiku (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku). It can be about anything. Post it in this thread. Multiple entries per person are allowed. But quality > quantity.

2. I'll pick the TWO I like best and send their writers a copy of Skullgirls on Steam.

3. Deadline: Midnight PST tomorrow night (Christmas Eve). Yeah, that means you only have 28 hours. How long does it really take you to write a limerick though?

If you win, I'll need your Steam username to send it to you. Xmas enjoy.

I'm definitely interested. Been thinking this game looks cool for quite a while. I'll try to hammer something out tomorrow.

Filia once was a schoolgirl by day,
Until Samson decided to play.
He took root on her head
(Luckily she's not dead)
And together, keep Marie at bay.

Boom. :doublecolbert:
Steam ID is in the profile. :D

A great fighting game
That is quite gratuitous
Boobs and butts galore

Cool idea! Creative I like.

Here's a haiku:

Freaky girls exchange,
in spectacular fashion,
high heels to the face.

I like how the limericks and haiku both could be about anything we wished, yet the three of us all nailed the topic at hand.

Though limerick and haiku were free,
We chose what they all should be,
Dedicated to games
Starring morbid dames,
And Skull Hearts for all girls to see.

Haiku:
toddler exchanges
his soul for a shaggy beard
looks totes like a man

Lymeric:
t'were a time of great misfortune,
the church had all but spoken,
the crime heresy,
his fall for all to see,
and under house arrest he lay broken.

Well, that was entertaining. Sounded like a neat thing to do. G'd on you, Unne.

There once was a Doctor named Unne
His giveaway finished up soon
Many poems he liked
But his favorite was Pike's
Her win sent her over the moon! :spin:

In the interest of fairness, I'm trying to avoid looking at who wrote which poem. I'll read them all tomorrow night. Keep em coming.

Maybe they should've all been sent to you via anonymous Candy Cane. But then how would you determine who really won

(apart from asking the Moogle)

Shiny new weapon
Attack power has dropped?
Black Belts are the worst

Games fun when fight lots,
Practice hard; kill enemies,
High five Unne, well done.

There once was a gent named Unne
Whose contest was to end soon
In order to win
I gladly will sin
And be your dick-sucking goon

Hard to compete with that Laddy.

EDIT: but let's try anyway.

There once was a fellow name Unne,
Who wanted me to write him a tune.
The pressure made me pee,
I need new pants you see.
I'm going to go cry in my room.

I'm not interested in this game
But I'll write one of these all the same.
If it can rhyme
And keep in time
Maybe I'll increase my e-fame. :spin:

Thanks for the poems. I will review them in the morning when my head is clear and send out some Christmas presents.

I decided to pick one limerick and one haiku.

Our limerick winner is:

Filia once was a schoolgirl by day,
Until Samson decided to play.
He took root on her head
(Luckily she's not dead)
And together, keep Marie at bay.

It sounds like you know stuff about this game, so hopefully you'll enjoy it.

Special "thanks but no thanks" to those who offered sexual favors. Props to Pike for making me feel bad about not picking yours; guilt trip is effective.

Our haiku winner is:

Cash left on the bed
Her forearms are bruised; eyes red
Cigarette burns slow

A bit of a disturbing way to win a game where girls beat the crap out of each other, but there you go. It's a good poem.

Nicolas yours was close in the runnings, but "totes" spoiled it for me. Kudos to Spuuky for most effective appeal to contest-runner's biases, it almost worked.

Thanks for indulging me. These were all great and I wish I had a dozen more copies of the game to give out.

Looks like Steam is down temporarily, so I'll send the games out when I'm able.

I'll take that as a consolation prize.

Yay! I knew doing my Skullgirls research when the game first launched would pay off. :D Thank you sir.

I knew I should have added that 4th line to my haiku about how great Skye-chan and Origami are.
