Anybody live on or near or see cool street names? There's an Aragorn and an Arwen street around here, as well as a Radiata Drive that reminds me of Radiata Stories every time I see it.

My hometown also has a Pikes Road.

I've seen a Yuna Rd here, or like Yuna Blvd or something. We also have a Pike rd.

I don't think there are any cool streets around me, sadly.

East Kilbride has themes for areas though, like in Greenhills everywhere is named after trees, and in Westwood they're all named after cities in other countries. Nothing exciting, but there's a tidbit for you.

I like the Aboriginal areas that have the wicked names. Like Kwinana and Midgegooroo.

When I used to live in Chorlton, South Manchester, I used to live round the corner from a Buckfast Close.

My Scottish friends found this highly amusing. Buckfast is a tonic wine that is very popular in Scotland. I have partaken in it before and it sends me absolutely doolally. I wouldn't touch the stuff now. It's got a bit of a bad rep by all accounts.

I always like it when someone removed the "e" from Bateman Lane or something. It makes me squee.

Utah primarily has numbers, but we did have some neat street names. I'll think on it later. Idaho is boring and just has different tree types and nature whathaveyous for names.

I live on main street. I grew up on ascutney street which is a indian name for the local mountain. Most of the streets in my town are like state street, union street, bridge street, river street things like that. Typical New England street names.

When I was on study abroad, the city I studied in had a road called Phoenix-dori (like Phoenix Way or whatever). I liked that name.

In Columbus, Ohio there is Gay Street. heh. gay.

I honestly thought this thread was gonna be about "How street (gangster) are you?"

....

I'm disappointed.

There's this one street that goes through the worst parts of Memphis called Getwell. Or, as I like to call it, Get Well Soon.

Other than that, no. This city's street names aren't especially interesting.

Gottingen Street in the bad part of Halifax is often referred to as "Get-a-gun Street"

Not really near me, but down near Mittagong where I used to work occasionally there's a Megalong Rd and a Bong Bong Rd.

Edit: Forgot about this one. Lois Lane.
