This is one of those bands that I really love, but I can't stand their fanbase. I'm not even sure of Maynard likes the fanbase.

I've never really had too much interaction with other Tool fans. I like their music, and went with some friends from work years ago to concert during the Lateralus tour.

The main thing I remember is that we had assigned seating, and they made sure you actually couldn't get down to the floor if you hadn't bought floor tickets, which was weird for a big metal concert.

Other than that, the guys did a fantastic job, Maynard rolled around on the stage half naked, and Tool was basically Tool.

I've honestly never been fussed on them.
People go gaga over the whole experimental, deep lyrics and weird structures but I honestly find them boring.
I do like progressive music but Tool have never done anything to really impress me.

To me rock and metal is about the energy, even some of the most progressive bands have that and I feel nothing from Tool.
I don't exactly hate them mind, so its not an outright attempt to h8 on T00l.
I think what the problem with them for me is the vocals. I'm a huge fan of dramatic, unrelenting frontmen blasting out note after note.
