I'm surprised by the number of double monitors the Desktop thread has, so now I'm curious.

I have a single computer monitor.

One monitor, flat widescreen.

Two actual monitors, because my wife confiscated my third. Plus laptop and tablet, dunno if those count. My dream is for my office to look like an IMAX theater.

A second monitor is a great upgrade for a computer. Better and cheaper than a new CPU/graphics card or whatever.

I have 2, 1920x1080 ones. I do a lot of Photoshop and occassionally video stuff so it helps to have two.

I use dual monitors forwork and I will never go back to using just a single. At home I just have my laptop.

Uh... what if I have most of those?

I have two monitors (going to get three new ones for this computer), a laptop, a tablet, and a big screen for one other computer.

But seriously, it's so annoying using one monitor after using two. It's like only using one leg to walk all the time. [/bad example]

Nico, what the hell do you even do with all of that?

I use one laptop for 98% of all my computer use. At work, I use a computer with one monitor. I have two tablets at home that I scarcely use, and if I really wanted to, I could connect a monitor to my laptop.

I'm literally not sure I could do my job with only 1 monitor at work. I have 2 for my primary workstation, and several more around me.

At home, of course, I have a single gigantic television, which was carefully researched to not suffer from any blurriness, lag, or anything else that could potentially cause a problem with a large TV as a monitor. It's a lot more fun to have everything in all my games be giant and crisp. I wouldn't really have much of a use for a second monitor at home.

I use my flat screen TV at home because it is easier for me to do. My laptop is my best piece of hardware by far so I just run an HDMI cable right into the TV, prop back on my couch and watch some internet stuff, game, or post!

I don't see what is so weird about it. Much better than sitting at a computer desk for long periods of time. Plus, although there is a good amount of physical work in my job, I also spend a lot of time at a computer. So when I get home, I rather be SUPER ULTRA COMFORTABLE!!

If I am not on my TV (99% of the time that means my laptop is out of my home with me), I am obviously using my laptop, which has a pretty big screen. I am happy with my set up, but I am sure someone is going to chastise me for not living my life exactly like theirs. So I'll say it right now: If you think I need a desktop computer as my main one, go right ahead and buy me one! ;)

Exactly this, I would find it more weird for people to have a giant flatscreen and NOT to use it as a monitor, I also use my laptop for when I'm at dialysis/friends place.

I use the two monitors for my main computer at home. A tablet is mostly for when I go out and I want a computer or something with me. I use it in the bathroom as well. :D? The laptop is what I use when I'm not at my desk for whatever reason. Though, I mostly use it when I'm in bed. The big screen TV is hooked up to my HTPC, which houses 90% of all my videos and music. It's great to do all that stuff on there. I also have two monitors for my workstation... so there's that too.

Everything is has a solid purpose for me. It's actually pretty nice. I would like to upgrade to a better laptop and main PC, but that's just me. :D?

I wish for a multichoice poll also. I have a laptop and I'm currently using a single monitor on my desktop though there's a tv sitting around that I'm considering hijacking. I just have no idea how that actually works...

I just have a 28.5in LED television as my monitor. Anything else is too big/small and I use it for more than just my computer - it also gets used for my PS2 and my game cube, so I didn't feel bad buying it.

Two monitors, a tablet, etc etc. I enjoy using the second monitor as a place holder for Skype or various adobe programs I have to use. The tablet is exclusively for pornography. :)

I have two dual monitors for editing -- one of which is 1920x1080 and I have a laptop. At work we use up to three to four monitors.

I have a laptop which I hook up to/extend to a second, larger monitor from time to time. When I'm at my desk, it's nice to have the 2nd monitor, but I also like the portability of the laptop. It works fine for most internetting. Dat screen real estate is excellent

I have one monitor which I have had for the last eight years and it isn't even widescreen!

However, frequently, though not always, I set my laptop up right beside my desktop, and have both of them running at the same time. Plus my smartphone.

This is all just at home - my job does not involve computers in any way.

I have a 1920 x 1080 widescreen monitor. I didn't like it at first but now I do like it. I should not have tried to get used to it when I had a massive awful headache!

I use a 24 in. 3d PS monitor for all my gaming.

No one uses just one monitor on a desktop PC these days. The very notion is just insane! This is America, Nicky. Get with it!

BJ and I each have two monitors. We also have a computer hooked up to the TV in our bedroom, which we use for various fabulous things. Now he wants to get a tablet... which I am undecided about.

I use my laptop, and the PC I still have at my parent's house still uses a gigantic old school box of a monitor :D

I have a crappy laptop. I need at least one extra monitor
