So, I've done my favourite pop songs... I guess Disney films would be a nice addition! I have a feeling there will be a lot of "you're wrong" being thrown around here due to the absence of some pretty big Disney flicks (bring it on!). I'm only using the animated films, and no - not pixar! Although I'll provide my Top 5 Pixars at the end! Enjoy~!

10. Hunchback of Notre Dame
http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4g5vfg3rM1ro92uho1_500.gif

I love the story in this, it's such an epic story and Disney do it so much justice - I mean, as much as they can do for an animated film aimed at children. Quasimodo is strangely such a relatable character, as is Esmeralda. and it has one of the greatest Disney soundtracks in my opinion, with so many of the songs being grossly underrated and almost forgotten about. Go listen to the soundtrack and tell me I'm wrong. The only reason it's not higher is because there are others that I prefer to it for whatever reason.

9. Treasure Planet
http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6pyjrRRBE1raw99to1_500.gif

I love everything about this Disney movie, I love that Joseph Gordan-Levitt is in it, and maybe that clouds my judgement. But for a modern Disney movie it's so brilliant. The soundtrack is wonderful, and it's visually stunning. An epic adventure and marvelous retelling of a classic children's story. There's also an alien in this movie who speaks in farts, so go figure EoFF! :monster:

8. Beauty and the Beast
http://31.media.tumblr.com/8a528573826b08c95f268954b34bef4b/tumblr_mr4jkmX4Z31s6uscuo1_500.gif

I felt out of a few movies with the 'classic' Disney Princess ladies, that Beauty and the Beast is probably my favourite. I've really gone off The Little Mermaid in recent years, and even though Beauty and the Beast is by far not one of my favourite overall stories, I do love the character of Belle and how she's a bit different. Also, Angela Lansbury as a teapot.

7. Pocahontas
http://24.media.tumblr.com/144dc3faa4f52fa24844f2c625cb28fd/tumblr_mkjiofljL91s7yctco1_500.gif

There are several reasons why Pocahontas is mint. First off, as with all the entries on this list - the music. Secondly, I love that Pocahontas is so strong, and a bit of a rebel, but at the same time just so wise. I love that these leaves just kind of follow her around and stuff. Thirdly, the animal sidekicks are great in this one. Meeko, Flit, and Percy are just epic. Flit was always my secret favourite because she's pretty sassy for a hummingbird. I think that Pocahontas is one of the best Disney movies with one of the best female leads.

6. Brother Bear
http://media.tumblr.com/2cae1b0cccfe8b678e4798692e07c4b4/tumblr_inline_mq0erwu6RJ1qz4rgp.gif

Brother Bear is here basically because I love bears and this story - even though it's so cliched is so hard to hate. Some people probably can't stand this movie but I find it so touching, and I love the animation, and the music by Phil Collins. They butchered the story with the sequel though and that annoyed me so very much.

5. Frozen
http://24.media.tumblr.com/836e32acaa3cf356384db9764e7a6c69/tumblr_mz56o1rrbt1qjp8bro1_500.gif

I only recently watched this, and so I'm surprised it became an instant favourite. But at the same time I'm not, Frozen is a masterpiece and really turns the usual stereotypes on their heads. Something I really despise about a lot of the original Disney movies is just how much the female has to sacrifice for love - and I'm glad in this a love story is not really the main story. I like that it's about two sisters, and that Elsa doesn't have to find a love interest or change - and she can embrace her powers, and that Anna embraces her clumsiness.

4. Mulan
http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/31200000/Mulan-GIF-mulan-ii-31240775-500-305.jpg

Mulan. I love this chick. She's great. She's told she'll never bring her family honour because she's clumsy and what-not. However she goes off to fight a war dressed as a man, the army finds out and leaves her stranded in the snow (boo) but she still doesn't give up and ends up saving the Emporer and all of China, and she has a horny grandmother, and a funny pet dragon. I also love the three loser friends she adopts. Mulan is a cracker with a pretty awesome soundtrack and it's something I can happily watch again and again. I would also like to know what make-up remover she uses though. Damn.

3. Tarzan
http://24.media.tumblr.com/21036e884250867852f2d62617603f85/tumblr_mezrrvyXvm1rb8ly8o1_500.gif

Ahhhh Tarzan! As well as loving the movie, I also used to religiously watch the Tarzan cartoon every Saturday morning in bed - it was the highlight of my weekend. This movie has some more amazing music, brilliant characters, and wicked villains - it's hard to pinpoint just exactly what it is that I love about Tarzan - I think every element of it just works perfectly and it's pure Disney gold.

2. Tangled
http://24.media.tumblr.com/5813439a93aee37a561eb2cfce2f7ccc/tumblr_muxs7dkNSG1qbdmyao1_500.gif

This is so high because it's just amazing. I remember a lot of people doubted that this would be good, purely because Disney called it 'Tangled' but I think they did a brilliant job. Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore sound so nice together, and I can never get enough of Maximus the horse and his antics.

1. The Lion King
http://25.media.tumblr.com/e5cbece305e25a41c9f4d8b27a21bcb9/tumblr_mpynkxIMsK1rzzw9yo1_500.gif

I don't think this can be disputed, really. It's the KING of all Disney movies, geddit? geddit? Ha. Everything about The Lion King is perfect though, it's the Disney movie I used to practically worship as a child and I'm sure my Mother has PTSD everytime she has to think about this movie because I would literally throw massive tantrums if she wouldn't let me watch it everyday.

So! There's my Top 10! Love it or hate it, I'd like to hear yours too! Also, just because a Disney didn't make my Top 10, it doesn't mean I didn't like it.

One of the reasons I love Disney movies so much, is that the loser always gets to be a hero, and there are so many great messages buried in the stories - ones that you can learn as children and can still be relevant when you're an adult. Disney provides a quick escape for me now, from adult life. Watching a Disney movie instantly takes me back to being a child and it's like I can fully immerse myself in the experience. Go Disney! :D

Excellent number one choice. There is no disputing it for me! I went to the pictures to watch this with my Dad and we were tearing up after the opening three minutes.

I've not seen a few of your other choices but really... Disney doesn't get much wrong.

I've got a sudden urge to watch Beauty and the Beast now :D

Nononono *clears throat* I'm Jane

Great list. Acceptable all round. Some of my favourites on there too! :3

Although, there is a significant lack of any Rescuers. What is the deal with that 10/10 best movie ever

Pixar deserves to have its own list, anyway.

I agree with all the ones I've seen. Only ones I haven't seen is Treasure Planet, Brother Bear and Frozen.

How come Mulan doesn't have a gif, though?

So glad that Hunchback made the list, it's too underated.

Beauty and the Beast is too low, but acceptable over all.

It's a good list! I haven't seen Frozen yet. I can't remember if I've seen Brother Bear, but I don't think I have. Here's a list of my favourite Disney films (including Pixar, not including Studio Ghibli). I'm not sure if I can pick between some, it's tricky after the first three. :S Well done Tara on being able to pick!

1: The Emperor's New Groove
2: The Lion King
3: Aladdin
4: and a half: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
5-8: Finding Nemo / Up / Tangled / WALL·E
8-10: Beauty and the Beast / Atlantis

Of course, if I merge a list with DreamWorks included as well, then it becomes much easier to pick out the best. :D

1: The Emperor's New Groove
2: Megamind
3: The Lion King
4: Aladdin
5: How to Train Your Dragon

And then it gets tricky again with Monsters vs. Aliens, Madagascar and Over the Hedge mixing up with Finding Nemo, Up, Tangled and WALL·E. Oh, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? ...Ah, crap.

I've only recent seen Tangled and it's currently jousting with The Lion King for my top spot.

Number one is correct

Mulan would be higher on the list for me, but only because my bias against being a girl and all. Girl power, etc.

Nononono *clears throat* I'm Jane

Tarzan is a great fit for Locky's list because I picture her as sweet and lovely albeit clumsy Jane and the brutish barbaric uncivilized Tarzan is obviously a perfect match for Philip. I can also see them completely swapping these roles between the two of them at times.

I will make a list of my own but now I have to sleep

My girlfriend convinced me to watch Tangled two nights ago on Lovefilm Instant. I'll admit I was sceptical as I was a bit put off by the title.

It was freaking awesome.

Maximus us might just be my favourite Disney character of all time.
