I am finally, at age twenty-five, making headway to finishing the Harry Potter series. Apologies to everyone on mine and Jinx's facebook feeds who have seen too much Harry Potter splashed around already!

What shape would your Patronus charm take? Mine would be a little fox :jess:

I dunno! I try to think of some animal I feel some kind of kinship with, or are assigned values based on ~reasons~, but I can't think of anything that would match myself. :(

I kind of hope that Pottermore will do some cool stuff with Patronus charms when it comes round to it.

I feel like it would be a wolf for no real reason in particular. If I were to summon a patronus there would probably actually be some stupid twist in which I find out I am my own patronus.

According to this quiz (http://www.allthetests.com/quiz08/dasquiztd.php3?testid=1086060121) a Ram. I can agree with the inner strength, usefulness and loyalty, but I really don't know. I find it interesting that only 6% of people taking the quiz got that Patronus, though.

Well acording to the test...

The TOAD, most may see this as a humiliating patronus. I mean how are you supposed to strike fear into the hearts of evil with a toad... come on. But this patronus is far from a joke; its wisdom surpasses all, giving it a tactical advantage. And by using its massive and adhesive tongue it can spit it out at the enemy and suck it in, making your nemesis’s come to you. Then subsequently swallows them... thus absorbing there power and saving the day.

I have several times in my life claimed people should eat others to absorb their power, so I guess it makes sense. :p

Best Harry Potter character as far as I'm concerned.

You guys are nuts. Luna has essentially no character development or depth and offers little importance to the story other than providing uncomfortable comic relief, eccentrics, and amusing or thoughtful comments once in a while. She has made little to no impression on me while reading, and I find that I much prefer her on-screen character to her literary one.

Luna is great, but there are handfuls of better characters in the HP world.

For someone who showed up in the 5th installment and only had 3 books to make an impact on us I thought she was great. Sure she doesnt change but not everyone in life goes through a metamorphosis like Neville. Some people do just stay the same and if theres any character that doesnt need to change it's Luna. When she goes charging off to the Department of Mysteries to help someone she barely knows she shows us that bravery can come from unexpected places, not just Gryffindors.

I always loved the idea of the Patronus in Harry Potter. I think we've had this thread before but, eh, let's just say any creature/animal from the Harry Potter universe can be your Patronus (I'm sure the mythological creatures are, but are very rare) what is yours and why?

I think mine would be a dragon. (Hungarian Horntail because urrrgh so cute!)

I think it would be a dragon because I see them a lot in my dreams, and if I'm ever having a scary dream I seem to be able to conjure up a dragon protector in the dream. Or I sometimes can turn into a dragon. Dragons are just very frequent in my dreams. I have always adored them too.

If I absolutely can't have a Dragon though, then I'd say something very dragon-like, possibly a Goanna because of it's links to Australia.

Hey, I wonder if a Dinosaur Patronus is possible?

I don't actually know, there is HP lore that essentially says that a patronus can be modeled after the person's that you love, I'm quite sure my gf's would be a shark so maybe that, but if it was not based on her's I'd say mine would be husky puppy or a sea otter.

My husband's would be a turtle, so mine would either be the gryphon i mentioned or a turtle :p
