View Full Version : That exciting time of year

That's right, it's only 13 days away from the most exciting day of the year: Avatar Enlargement Day!

I can't believe it's almost been three years since Deputy Prime Minister Madonna (formerly Genius Lynx, Dark Champion) announced one of the key pillars of our platform to the people of EoFF. We, The Poké Party, promised a logical progression of avatar sizes for all, and we have delivered! No longer do the good people of EoFF have to worry about conforming to the 80x80 requirements, nor do they have to fear the costs of avatar inflation.

To celebrate this year's advancement from 82x82 to 83x83, I've gone ahead and revamped the look of my avatar:

Get excited guys!

How will you celebrate?

Yours in Excellence,
~Prime Minister Timekeeper.

The last time an avatar got bigger was during the sex scene in the movie.

This could well be the single most important event in my lifetime.

I'm going to ensure I have this day booked off as holiday every year so I can bathe in the milk of a thousand goats.

We are actually behind schedule, I believe, because staff is not government, but what can you do? Seeing 84x84 would be ideal; however, knowing how uproarious my radical views are, the smaller upgrade of 83x83 would be acceptable.

Signatures and avatars should swap places. That would be amazing.

You are correct, and 84x84 would also sync better with the year. Unfortunately, I believe the legislation was not fully implemented until 2012 due to slow bureaucratic processes.

Perhaps an alteration could be made?
This would allow those like noxious.sunshine to have their ultimate wishes fulfilled by 2030, rather than 2031!

I am glad that in this era of political failings, we can rely on Prime Minister Timekeeper and the Poké Party to deliver on their promises, even as competitors try and fail to hold their own undemocratic elections.

Here's to bigger avatars! Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

The FAQ defines an avatar as being 60pixels tall and 60pixels wide and smaller than 6 kilobytes! This idea of 83x83 avatars goes against traditional avatar values and I will not stand for it even though it in no way effects my avatar.

This is what happens when we let a Chocobo be our Administrator.

Fixed.

Also, we should return to 60x60 avatars. Long live 60x60! Down with avatar inflation!

Agreed.

That sort of behaviour saddled us with years of no change. Then, our great leader, Timekeeper, descended and brought change. Slowly, friends; that is how we succeed. Wearing away at the walls like the ocean bites at the shore.

Eight days later, five days left. I look forward to the staff's response to this thread and acknowledgement we are due an avatar size upgrade. Really, I could not be more gleeful, in a childlike and innocent manner.

Raistlin, yes and no. Obviously the elected government holds no actual power (other than the people's), but becoming a Knight is not a mobocratic decision on during an arbitrary period of time done for superfluous reasons, which the former is, and the former is cooler for it. So, yes, staff actually runs things, and an elected party and its government are just pretty faces. I like being a pretty face.

rubah, but I already waited until you were eighteen; what do you mean, another eighteen?! Sigh, I can do nothing but obey.

Ugh, I guess we should look into running elections again because they were/are due some time, yeah?

Theoretically yes, but the last elections never really concluded so it's a bit hard to expect anyone to get stuck into that again

You mean the elections aren't still running???

Madonna

I know, Jiro, which makes me want to run it even when I do not. Maybe after this year, it will fall to the previous party to run the next elections.

These kids today with their pac man video games, hula hoops, loud rock music and their Dan Fogelberg. When I was first getting on the Internets, we didn't have avatars or signatures, just a username! We need to return to the Traditional Internet Values that this great Internet was based on, when it was brought forth by our Nerd Forefathers!

Down with progress! Timekeeper wasn't born at this IP address! I demand to see his site certificate!
