Come one, come all, share with us your favorite side-splitting books. Everything is allowed here, from Captain Underpants to Jonathan Swift.

I know Douglas Adams is a perennial EoFF favorite, so I'm guessing a lot of people will cite The Hitchhiker's Guide as their favorite. It's been a good while since I read it and I remember it being funny, but I can't remember too many specifics. I should probably read it again sometime.

My personal favorite is A Confederacy of Dunces. I don't know if I can think of a more despicable yet captivating character in literature than Ignatius J Reilly. The slothful, disgusting expert on Boethius is among my favorite character creations in any medium ever.

Other funny books I like:
A Fan's Notes by Fred Exley
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers
Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
Under the Volcano by Malcolm Lowry (funny in a depressing way)
Humboldt's Gift by Saul Bellow
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
Journey to the End of the Night by Louis-Ferdinand Celine

What do you guys like?

Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome.

It is actually one of my favourite books. It is beautifully written and is absolutely hilarious.
