Say hello to an unlikely hero (http://comicneue.com/)

Comic Sans MS is revamped with a trendy new spin and hot damn, I think I actually like it. In fact, I think I love it.

Talk about fonts here! I expect a certain typography nerd (*coughRantzcough*) to shower us with fonttalk :colbert:

I actually don't hate that. Interesting. I'm a much bigger fan of serif fonts than sans serif fonts generally though. I've always found the font I'm typing in changes the tone of what I'm writing.

lol Stay outta EoEo, kale... If you know what's good for you.

IDK about serif, sans, and sans serif other than what's in the title of a particular font.

But I like digital type things. And unique cursive & handwritten fonts.

When typing something out, I prefer Tahoma or Verdana. For editing pictures and things, then the above.

Basically this is the difference between serif and sans serif fonts - one has serifs and the other does not:

Script fonts are also very cool for typographical reasons, but a pain in the butt to actually type with over a period of time.

No, Comics Sans. Not now, not ever. You've hurt me so much over the years and I've got too much self-respect to take you back. I'm glad you've started putting pride in your appearance and I wish you happiness, but it's too little, too late.

I almost got fired because of Comic Sans.

My old place of work sent out an important and professional letter telling everyone about pay cuts or something serious. But it lost all its importance because it was written in Comic Sans. It was hilarious. Legal speak and calm reassurances of job security in comic sans. Anyway I wrote a jokey thing about it on Facebook and 3 people complained and I had a manager shouting at me about the importance of the letter and the use of comic sans and I basically had to not laugh in her face.

That's my comic sans story and I hope you like it.

I don't really have a favourite font but I have a weird thing for Courier New.

I used a Fixedsys font for the flashbacks in a recent short story I wrote.

.....Mine is Sans Serif. So. Yeah.

Serif: Easier to read on paper. Looks ugly on screen.
Sans: Easier to read on a (standard) screen. Isn't as cool as serif on paper.

That's always been how I've seen things.

This new Comic serif is okay, but I'm not sure about the e's. The diagonal bugs me.

This is standard for submissions to most places, so I got into the habit. TNR, 12pt, 1.5pt - 2pt spacing.

Comic Sans was never a terrible font to begin with. It wasn't good, but not the worst for its time. The problem with it was always overuse and terrible misuse, the way I see it. Comic Neue looks pretty decent.

I don't have a lot of font talk for you right now. :shobon:

I dislike serif fonts when I read things on my PC and such, but I don't mind them at all when i'm reading an actual physical paper book.

All my messaging programs are set to use lucida sans unicode

Georgia Italic, I use it all the time for my Lync conversations at work. It just feels... elegant.

Been using a lot of Constantia for my creative writing. For sans-serif fonts, I like Franklin Gothic, but with the spacing closer together than the default.

I liked the font they used in the ASOIAF books as well, and even researched its name and downloaded it. It's called Electra LT Regular. I've used it in some graphic art stuff.

I like the way Aulayna thinks. Georgia is also one of my favorite fonts. It's not quite in-your-face like Vivaldi or Edwardian Script ITC but it's not plain like Calibri or Arial. The letters can seem "elegant" without using script.

Gill Sans is probably one of my favorite of the sans-serif fonts. I think it's nice and easy to read. But it's not exactly the most common font.
