Who doesn't make answers public on polls is a dirty commie.
I DISAGREE!
And besides, once I answer one of these alleged public polls I can't see who voted for what anyway.
Oh wait, there it is. nvm.

I find that fewer people will actually take the poll if their names are shown.

I voted all the options. I am a hardcore, edgy forum user that breaks the rules. I spell extreme with the letter 'X'.
Polls shouldn't be public because I judge everyone on their choices SO HARD.

In all seriousness if people are vindictive enough to judge other people over a user created poll, then chances are there are no pleasing them, anyway. That and they'll just find something else to pick at, because some people just can't be content or happy unless they are finding flaws in other things to feel better about themselves.

I only care who shared my opinion but tbh I don't think I've seen a serious poll outside of EoEo ever

I think private polls are okay. People can voice their opinions in the thread if they want to stand behind them.

I find flaws in your FACE
I do too. When I look in the mirror by reflection laughs and makes distorted faces to mock me. Wait, that might be the Dragon King's doing...
Wait, I am supposed to make fun of you. Uh...your elbows have too much excessive skin. Dip them in play-dough and sculpt a nutsack.

i originally read it as "pubic"
Anonymity obviously helps people give an opinion without feeling judged by it, but I don't think we have many polls here where people will actually judge people for their answers :greenie: I'm just being a moron.

I think public should be the default option, but I don't think vB allows that without us doing some kind of editing. Maybe I'll look into it sometime.

Why should public be the default option? Polls are best left anonymous.

This. I'm not understanding the obsession with public polls, to be honest.

:jess:
It leaves an option for people who want to remain anonymous, which is considerate, I feel.

it's pretty much the whole point of a poll to be anonymous
i dont care that much i guess but if we ever have a serious poll it should be anonymous
