I am fond of Ryan Gosling's band Dead Man's Bones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man's_Bones) and Jason Schwartzman's band Coconut Records (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coconut_Records_(musician)). I also like Scarlett Johansson's Tom Waits cover album (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anywhere_I_Lay_My_Head) quite a bit! Also, something to note, I love love love the Walk the Line OST with Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix. Love them and I think their voices (especially Reese's) are lovely.

Additionally, smurfing BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH SINGS I DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS A THING (my sister showed me)

Benedict Cumberbatch - Can't Keep It Inside (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TPThGjh28U)
Benedict Cumberbatch - The Angel Sings (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wrm7Yccvhk0)

Trivia note about the second song: This is for a BBC Radio production of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01r522y/episodes/guide), in which Benedict is cast as the angel Islington (who is one of my favorite characters and I cannot think of anyone better to play him), and this is a little hymn he sings!

What do you think about celebrities (namely actors, I suppose) extending their talents to the world of music? List your favorites!

It makes me enjoy an actor even more. To know they are artistic in other ways impresses me!

I rather liked that one song Lindsay Lohan came out with.

And J.Lo's tunes are p catchy, but she's not -technically- a good (forget about great) singer. She knows her stuff, though.

Also Mandy Moore. hahahahaha

Definite yes to the latter, and a fairly certain yes on the former.

I'm a big fan of Scarlett Johansson's album that you mentioned. I still have never listened to Coconut Records. I keep meaning to and then forgetting about it. I'll have to listen later today.

Anthony Head, James Marsters and Amber Benson all proved to have wonderful voices during the Buffy musical. Outside of that I don't know much about actors singing talents.

No, JLO was a dancer before she was a singer and actress. Then she was an actress and then a singer.

I enjoy Ryan Gosling's voice and had no idea Scarlet could sing till this year, but I'll be checking out her cover album.
