I know his books are either love 'em or hate 'em, but to me he was an absolutely brilliant author. His books have changed my life. He will be missed.

Damn. R.I.P. At least he lived a long and productive life, I guess.

He was an absolute LEGEND of modern literature and a nobel prize winner. One of the giants has just left.

He actually lived and worked for a good part of his life not too far from where my family is from.

In the wake of his death, the Paris Review has republished one of his interviews (http://www.theparisreview.org/interviews/3196/the-art-of-fiction-no-69-gabriel-garcia-marquez) from 1981, the year before he got the Nobel Prize. It's well worth reading.

Damn, this is really sad. I must give One Hundred Years of Solitude another read - I've been meaning to do that for months.
