According to the wiki (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XV), Nomura is "trying to propose new vision of how a Final Fantasy game can be" and that "the game's going to be more human than the science-fiction caricature... and will focus around current world events - in that sense it's darker."
However, with all the use of technology in what seems to be a fictional alternate world, it seems a little more than a little science fiction-y to me! The realistic cityscapes (http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/18qnj09rcfd98jpg/original.jpg) to the smurfing police cars (http://img.gawkerassets.com/img/18qni0jb3t483jpg/original.jpg) and highways based on Tokyo's roads to Nomura stating that Noctis will have use of a smurfing cell phone (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_XV), which can be used to take in-game pictures.

Of course, it's common knowledge that XV was "Verus XIII" before being renamed, "versus" given the original latin meaning of "change in direction". Direct translation: "turned, changed, having been turned." How do you feel about this new direction for the series? Do you feel that the whimsy associated with Final Fantasy can exist in a dark, modernistic, technology-filled world, or will it be compromised as it has no place?
