I have always loved a good storm. In Canada I would often sit by the window draped in woolen throws and a steaming mug of tea or hot coco contemplating the torrid violent affair of the elements.

Nothing had prepared me for the epic storms I would come to witness on the Ocean, however. There is a magnitude more awesome and experience so daunting that as you stare out to the sea you're swept up by the old romantic notions of the 19th century and sometimes feel the harrowing futility and insignificance of your existance. It's wonderfully macabre.

Storms are nice but storms tend to result in flooding and black outs here so that's a shame.

I like them quite a bit. I like leaving my windows open during a storm, and at night I can hear the rain pattering on my skylight and lightning flashing from above. It's peaceful.

Until a stupidly outrageous boom of thunder wakes me up as I'm going to bed :stare:

Storms are amazing. The last big one I was in was when I was in Dubai last year. We had planned on going out for the evening but there was just no way. We couldn't even open the balcony door as the sand from the beach was whipping all around us.

Storms over there are crazy.

It's thundering here at the moment too. I love thunderstorms unless there's a hail threat; I'd rather not have to pay for car repairs.

I love storms, the craziest one I experienced was probably the one when I was 18 and walking to my best mates house as the storm began. Lightning struck the lamp post across the road from where I was walking, scared the shit outta me but also bloody awesome. This wasn't a main road either, it was a little side street where two cars abreast were quite hard to pass.
