I made this for dinner tonight. Takihi is a Niuean dish made from layers of sliced taro and paw-paw, topped with coconut cream then covered and baked.
I don't think I cooked it quite long enough, but it was still a rich, filling vegan main that was almost sweet enough to double as dessert.

Anyone ever tried this, or something like it? How about other Pacific dishes?
