Do you gamble? Ever? Often? Do you spend much, or little? What do you do?

I don't gamble on a regular basis, but I do on occasions and if I do, it's not a lot.

Sometimes I play the lottery, if that counts. I occasionally buy a scratch card because I find them fun, the most I've ever won is £100! I've bet on a few football games in the past.

I've been to an actual casino once. It was for a friends birthday, and it was fun, but I'm not in the habit of throwing money down the drain. I set myself a budget and didn't overspend. I mostly just played roulette, and I came out with more money then I went in with - it paid for my taxi journey home! :jess:

If the lottery is over $100k, I might buy a ticket.

I've been to Vegas a few times. I just kept track of what I spent, so I didn't go into the red. I did win $600 on a slot, which was nice.

I do not gamble, but I do follow horse racing pretty religiously.

Apparently it's really rare for someone to love racing whilst not betting on it. I just think it's fun to watch. :3:

I play the lotto occasionally. That's about it.

Although, a few years back, I did win the jackpot of €30 from the fruit machine that was in the local Chinese takeaway. That was when I reached the pinnacle of life, it's been all downhill from there.

I won $80 from a slot machine once and decided to quit slots forever while I was ahead.

Every time I EVER go to a roulette wheel, I place my first bet on 0 or 00. The ONLY time I didn't, the table had spun a 0 right as I took my seat, so I hesitated immensely and chose not to bet 00, instead picking a couple numbers and a color. I spent $100 in bets, and the result of the spin was 00. I pretty much lost my shit because it pays out at 65:1 and I hesitated.

No. It's silly, the odds are almost always against you.

I learned my gambling lesson early on in life as an 11 year old young man. I put a single 10 pence in a machine and won £3. Using my naive 11 year old logic I determined that if I put my £3 back in I could have even more money. I ended up -40p because I had to borrow money for the bus home. :( Man, buses were cheap back then.

it's a lot of fun as long as you have the right mindset. so yea, set yourself a budget and think along the lines of "ok im gonna spend $300 but I am gonna have some fun doing so"

if you go in hoping beyond hope that you win then uh oh lol

if you go in hoping beyond hope that you win then uh oh lolAbsolutely. Always travel with a budget if you plan on doing so. And, if you are up over your original budget after the first day of your trip, put the starting budget away and ONLY gamble with your winnings. That way, at absolute worst, you lose your budget, but if you were ever up, you go home with what you had when you started.

I've only been to a casino once or twice without spending much on anything but drinks, but I'm a big fan of sports betting. I used to have a 5 leg accumulator on the football on most weekends but don't bother that much anymore with it. It's fun to stick one on during big sports events like the World Cup though. I think there's a bit of a stigma to it as it's seen as a bit working class, but that's dumb; it's a good laugh.

Yup. If you spend money that you are willing to lose, it can be great fun. When I went to the casino, I didn't expect to come out with anything, it was just a bonus that I did. :jess:

I only bet on football because it's the only sport I follow, but I never win! I usually do an accumulator and I'm always influenced by recent form which always fails me. :(

I don't play poker much anymore, but I used to about once a week. Just $10-$20 buy-in small tournaments (7-15 people). I think the most I won in a single game was probably about $100.

I've been to a casino a few times, and there I play blackjack, $10-15 tables. I've made a total of a few hundred dollars over several occasions.

I avoid slots, roulette, etc. I don't understand pure luck games like those. I don't really bet on sports either, though I will put a few bucks into a work/friends football (American) pool.

I've very rarely gambled in my life, but every time I've played something like roulette or cards with my friends I get scarily into it and become more and more reckless as the game goes on. Maybe gambling is something I should steer clear of!?

I bought a lotto ticket once because the rest of my office was doing it and it was a fun "what if" thing. Other than that, I've never gambled besides "I'll bet you this and that" with friends without actually putting sums on it.

I haven't gambled in a long time and I didn't gamble much, but I've a few poker tournaments where I almost always got second place which was no prize.

I don't care if people gamble but really the thing is to, like others have said, set an amount that you can afford and don't go over that. My idiot of an ex once bet the rent money at a casino because his friend got him pumped up telling him he would win double. Casino's don't make money off of paying people. If you have extra money and you enjoy it then good for you and have fun. If you don't have the money it might be something to hold off on until you do.

My dad likes to play poker and we went to a casino for his stag do. I lost at poker pretty hard because I can't bluff against more experienced players.

Anyway, story is the first thing I hear when we walked in was that the best man had bet and lost £1000. On his last gamble, he won £2000. Despite this insane luck, he ended up losing it all again and was again down £1000. This was in the span of 30 minutes.

I dont understand why you are willing to do something like that. I would have quit when I was £1000 up and took it easy for the rest of the night, instead of blowing it all again.

Occasionally. I only ever do it socially with friends and will always set myself a losing limit (usually $200-300).
I like Baccarat, Roulette, Blackjack and Pontoon. But not Double Zero Roulette - that blows.
There was also a short-lived game in my local casino called Lucky Draw Baccarat that basically combined Baccarat with Blackjack and it was awesome. I'm kinda glad they took it away because I drifted pretty close to addiction with that one. =)

I also don't mind sports betting. Keeps the game interesting.

I really don't like gambling. The odds are not in your favour which to me makes it pointless on every occasion. The only time I think it could be seen as justifiable is when you're playing against other people on a "level playing field" if you like. That way the odds are even for everyone and it comes down to how talented you are. I know my stepbrother has earned a lot of money through online poker.

I really don't like gambling. The odds are not in your favour which to me makes it pointless on every occasion. This is where the fun in sports betting lies. You can find value in a market when a bookmaker prices up something at odds longer than what you believe the actual odds should be. I'll give an example: a few seasons ago Bet365 had Gylfi Sigurdsson to score twice vs Fulham at 50-1. Absolutely ridiculous odds considering he was an attacking midfielder who had been banging them in in the last few games, and I would have priced it at 15-20/1. Stuck a fiver on and he duly scored twice in the first half. Easiest 250 quid I ever made.

I helped my parents win $40 at Cache Creek. What I did was to put a coin away every time I won rather than betting everything I had. So my parents thought I was losing everything and would hand me an extra coin so we could all experience the "fun of gambling." We stopped playing when my parents had reached the allotted $200 limit we had set for ourselves, the total payout I got from the tables was $240, thus we "won $40".

I've also played Slots and other weird gambling arcades and bingo. I don't like to gamble. I don't feel the rush of winning on luck. I prefer to know that I'm going to win rather than risk losing.

I'm going to hold off on gambling until I have a child who's college fund I can squander.

I've eaten at buffets in casinos if that counts for anything. Depending on the casino, the food can be a gamble.

Gambling seems interesting and fun, but I've never tried it. I really want to okay Blackjack. I would just want to play for fun not money, but I suppose then it wouldn't be gambling.
