When you get to name Steiner at the beginning, it turns out you're picking his last name. The Queen addresses him as Captain Steiner (using last name) and she addresses Beatrix as General Beatrix. So is Beatrix her last name or her first name?

Because in Alexandria if you look around there's a statue of a young woman General who fought off many soldiers during the 9th Lindblum war when she was just 13 years old.


So my headcanon is that Madelene was her mum and Madelene is her first name.

I never thought of that to be honest. I knew Steiner's firest name, but with seeing "Steiner" so much in the game, I just became accustomed to the fact that it was his 1st name. Looking at it from a military stand-point I should have caught that earlier. Most people in this game had a last name anyway right? Zidane Tribal? I knew it was something like that.

I think Kimahri is the only one in the main party that has something even remotely close to a last name with "Ronso", but that's more of his species/tribe, than a last name. I'm pretty sure in the game he's referred to as Kimahri Ronso throughout the game.
