I have given a lot of myself to this website because I love it, because I believe in it. I know that sounds cheesy, but I don't know how else to word it. With FFXV on the horizon I'm hopeful that if we put in the hard yards we can get so many new and awesome people to come and the torch will be passed onto them, as it was passed onto me and to all of you, and EoFF will be an awesome place for bored young folks for many years to come.

Thanks everyone for thanking me for doing the Announcers job on the #eoff channel. I actually never intended to do the job: I noticed that it wasn't going to be done officially by Awards Guy, and sort of thought it was a service that couldn't be denied to the good people of #eoff.

I have to say: it's a tough job keeping everything in check and organised and ensure there's no mistakes. I did a pretty mediocre job compared to how Awards Guy usually does them on #eoff, but at least the people there was informed. :pSpecial mention for AlaynaMae and Jiro, who stayed up all night past 7:00AM to watch the Ciddies up to No.20.

I've now been on my laptop flat from 3:00PM - 3:55AM. It's been a looong Ciddies, but a fantastic one. The speeches are fantastic. Well done to all winners and nominees, but also to those who fine members who didn't get a single nomination - every member on EoFF is special, but particular thanks to BoB for hosting, shion and all the fabulous speech writers and voice actors, and the people on #eoff doing their thing, as always.

I must say: major kudos to Loony BoB for doing something significantly different -- and more time- and energy-consuming -- for this summer's Ciddies. On top of the general kudos that any Ciddies host deserves for simply being the host. If there's one thing that can be said about Daniel, it's that he pours his heart out into these things. And even though I didn't participate, I'm sure the live voice chat was very engaging and entertaining. One of these days, he'll even shake up the actual awards more. ;)

I'm guessing this mixup happened sometime around the point that the tally from the spreadsheet is moved into a txt file and slowly edited until it has everything nice and even for a courier font tally (the one seen in the first post, which is also at the end of each award winner reveal). For anything that has urls, some trial & error work which involves a fair bit of editing around the urls and a lot of quick looking back and forth to the spreadsheet to ensure the votes are right and so on. Unfortunately on this case it seems pesky ol' Human Error had something to say about it all and fucked up EVERYTHING. But it's okay now. Well, aside from Psy, who undoubtedly will need heavy counselling after he lost this Ciddie. This was the one he was after all along, not Best Member, and I don't know if he'll take the news well. :(

Although it was somewhat daunting when I logged on and saw that after leaving around page 7 yesterday that I had 70+ pages to read of this thread, my will was strong, I made myself a bowl of shreddies with sugar on and got to work. After sitting here reading through and listening to speeches and watching the thunderdome etc I thoroughly enjoyed projecting my mind back in time to relive the moments with all of you. I am glad my speeches were enjoyed! That was straight up, legit.

Third place for a ciddie, not bad! That's my best ranking ever in the past nine years so far. I am moving up.

As mentioned in the previous speech, the changes afoot at EoFF have been many in the past six months. It's naturally been a little demanding on our site staff what with trying to keep up with the notable increase in our social media presence, the never-ending need for fresh content on the frontsite and the increasing number of tickets in our Developer Ticket System within the staff forum (the fact that we've needed to create one says it all!). I'll note that the vote for the Highwind was pretty spread on this occasion and it is without doubt in my mind that this is due to the excellent team we have all working hard to a fairly even level. I think one staffer even said they got it narrowed down to about five or six people and then realised they couldn't pick!

Big changes have been ongoing and we still intend on increasing our site staff, so I encourage anyone and everyone who is interested in writing articles to get involved! Likewise anyone interested in throwing together some videos for the YouTube channel are more than welcome to get in touch with Psychotic to help our ever-growing list of videos there! We'll be unveiling another new feature of the EoFF community here in the forums soon, too, so keep your eyes out for new shinies around the place. ;)

One thing that we've never really been happy with is our current frontsite, and while the CMS sadly has progressed little during these six months I can proudly say that due to a push from many of our lovely staff members, we're almost ready to set Fifteen as our new default style that will help give us a modern edge. One key person in getting this style sorted to the high standards we want for it is Marshall Banana, and her ability to stay calm and just chip away at things while we point out all the issues we find makes her a welcome addition to our very hard working team. So, a big congratulations to the lady who returned to our staff ranks quite recently, Marshall Banana, on winning the Highwind Award for Site Staff! :)

Sometimes I'm scared that one day I'll wake up, log on and everybody will be a staff member except me. And everytime I post people will respond but at the end of their response they'll say 'but you're not a staff member so yeah', and I'll feel uncomfortable at first but then after a year or so I would hardly remember it any other way.
