Because the edits and changes throw me into a fury like none hath seen before. The updated computerization and graphics vs. the general setting and EVERYTHING ELSE having a plainly 1970's look to it throws off my immersion and I hate it.

What do you think of the changes Lucas made? Was there any benefit to doing this? Are there any changes made that you agree with?

I don't particuarly mind but, yeah, seeing 70's/early 80's graph mixed with cutting edge new just makes the whole thing seem weird and out of place.

The changes were stupid. Updating the series was stupid. The first three movies were nearly perfect, and should have been left the hell alone. Leaving them the hell alone includes making prequels/sequels.

I liked the prequels

Well, the second one mostly

The first set of changes on the VHS box set I have don't bother me too much, but I prefer the original versions of the three movies. The only one that really bothers me is the stupid alien singing in... Jabba's palace? I can't remember exactly The more changes that were made though, the more I don't like them.

I don't really care about the changes, like, whatever. But I don't think it was worth the effort. They were fine. I don't really mind but yeah, not worth it. They could of left it.

The only change that bugs me is putting Hayden into the final ghost scene of Return Of The Jedi. Not because of the prequels, they were cool. Not because of Hayden, nah he was good - they just could of written better for him, he could of handled it. Just because it doesn't make sense. Why would his ghost be him as a young man? His ghost would be him as an old man, just like it was. I can't even remember if they replaced Obi-Wan. If they didn't, it's even more ridiculous.

They might have taken the form of the person they were supposed to be internally, not the person they were when they died. Obi-Wan was who he was supposed to be when he died, but Vader was not. Aside from that I don't really know.

I don't mind some of the changes so much, but George definitely treats it as if he's creating fanfiction of something else, completely disregarding source material and the wishes of the fans.

I think it was a waste of time, but it doesn't bother me that much. I have the blu-ray set of the series and it looks gorgeous.

And yeah, the argument is that since Anakin is a force ghost he takes on the form he had when he was still a Jedi.

I would have to go to my mom's house and find the old VHS tapes to see the unedited versions and that's not something I'm likely to do, so I don't have much of a choice :/

I think there was an entire South Park episode about this. George Lucas really shouldn't be allowed anywhere near his films.

I don't really care actually, apart from one change in Jedi. Jinx puts it better than I ever could:

I can look past everything but that goddamned song in Jabba's palace. Even Han shooting last. Smh
