View Full Version : Best musclecars?
Which ones would you select from the past and the present? Classic T/As had style, and the Chrysler SRT8 Core seems to represent modern muscle best. I guess this is about some models we would like to own, space and money permitting, lol.;)

68 Firebird was my mom's old car, so I'd go with that just for the nostalgia.
I also wouldn't mind having this (http://i.imgur.com/0yQKJ44.jpg) in my driveway. I even have the hotwheel.

My all time dream car would be the 69 ZL1 Camaro that everyone has heard me talk about a billion times that was developed for drag racing but was probably the most powerful car of its time and is ultra, ultra rare.
I've been researching about 69 Camaros, though, and I stumbled across the Yenko super car that was made with a 427 which also sounds pretty appealing. Around 200 of the cars were made back in the day, but a North Carolina restoration company has started production on a new round, which is pretty amazing. And it isn't an "inspired by" kit car, this is the real deal, because the first one they produced was numbed 202 under Yenko's COPO. Maybe someday~

Too bad that nicely coloured dash is contained within a Chevy which it must always be assumed is trying to kill you at all times.

I know you're joking, but I'd gladly take a Ford or a Dodge at the moment over anything from a company that knowingly sold defective cars which killed dozens of people at a minimum. :p

I accept your foreign muscle car challenge. Merriam-Webster says it's "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving", but c'mon. It can be other countries.
So, we'll just go with the rest of the accepted classification. Muscle cars are usually V8, rear wheel drive, and usually (not always) made from an existing platform. The Dodge Viper is a muscle car, but it's a V10, and the chassis did not exist before Dodge made the Viper. I'll pick some from some different areas.

My mother had one of these, and sold it to a guy she knows who loves fixing up old cars. It was maroon with a soft top....I miss that car.
In all honesty, my muscle car is my favorite, a 1986 Monte Carlo. The guy I bought it off of didn't take care of it so the motor blew in a few weeks. Thankfully it wasn't hard to find a good 350 to put in it, and once I have some spare money I'm going to fix her up nice:)

And by dangerous I mean "look at the price of premium gas my wallet is crying".

I think we should keep this to American musclecars lest further shame be cast upon their international brethren.
Seriously. What are those abominations? xD

I didn't know that we were talking about currently made vehicles, if that was the case then yes I'd take a Ford over a GM product. Still wont ever see my a Chrysler product however. But then again, you'll never see me in a brand new vehicle. I refuse to buy anything newer than 1999. Pre 90's GM made the best truck. now their 350's are junk.
