Ultima Spell is Underwhelming

So, I finally bested the Ereshkigal and got the Ultimatus garb. And I have to say, the Ultima spell it comes with is rather underwhelming. Granted, I have a very limited selection of monsters I can test it on. Anubis and those bot things that spawn in Yusnaan. Its the end of the game, I've hunted everything else to extinction. But its not doing much against them. I'd expect a spell that costs 100 ATB to be doing more damage than my basic attacks.

Anyone else find this spell disappointing?
