Me a few days ago: You know, I'm not actually interested in anything this year. Maybe if Watch_Doges is cheap I'll pick that up, or FFIII.

*fast forward too today*

Me: Eh still not interested, let's take a look anyway...

FarCry 3 for €5... The Witcher 2 Enchanced Edition €4... *hnnnnnnnnnnng* smurf YOU GABE!

I picked the worst month to buy a £50 printer :( :( :(

If y'all haven't done it yet, do pick up Mirror's Edge because it's A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

Hotline Miami (http://store.steampowered.com/app/219150/) for $1.49 - This is a game where you run around and murder people. The high points are super awesome 80's-style soundtrack, bizarre plot, and ultra-violence. You'll die every 5 seconds, and you'll murder thousands of people in the process. Don't like the MS Paint graphics put you off, this is a fun little game. The sequel is coming this year.

I recommend playing the game on other platforms, but for $1.50, there's no excuse for anyone not to try this ultraviolet masterpiece.

I kinda ran out of PC games I'm interested in to buy, this year I'll be looking out for Civ V, Europa Universalis IV, and Far Cry 3. Seeing that last one at $7.50 is tempting.

Witcher 1+2 for a whole $6 is gorgeous, if I didn't already have them. So I bought a few copies to gift around to my friends who didn't have them yet.

keep in mind that the complete XCOM is actually $26 unless you brits are getting a special deal, the $8 version for me include The Bureau and the basic XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

PS the games on my wishlist are expensive but that summer deal thing is awesome so just gimme all your cards plox

From what has been said, I believe Eurofolks have some games a tad cheaper than even the US. Though, you Oceaniacs, a shameful lot you are, has to pay more. You could always game the system and transfer money to someone's paypal and have them buy it cheaper to gift to you. But, you know, whatevs.

On the other hand, there are some really good games for sale at the moment. Worth picking up. Hopefully stuff on the ol' wishlist gets cheaper.

Alternatively, register your Steam account with an address that's got a lower price... then pay with PayPal.

Today's deals are quite tasty:

Daily Deals:
The Walking Dead Season Two - 50% off
State of Decay - 75% off
Prison Architect - 66% off
Plague Inc Evolved - 33% off
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs - 75% off
Game Dev Tycoon - 60% off
Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition - 50% off
RPG Maker XV Ace - 75% off
Bound by Flame - 40% off

Although I own it on the Xbox 360 I've gone for State of Decay, I couldn't resist it along with the two DLC's and mods - the George A. Romero mod looks the sex for starters.

While we're here I recommend Prison Architect for those who like that sort of thing, and Game Dev Tycoon on behalf of ToriJ.

So far I've picked up Don't Starve, Planet Explorers, Payday 2 and Killing Floor. I also acquired Chivalry as a gift from someone, which is awesome. I love Steam sales even if my bank account hates them - I haven't played video games this much in months and it's really nice to be back on it.

Jiro

I, too, bought Titanfall on Origin. Worth it. Great fun.

I picked up XCOM+DLC and The Bureau. The Walking Dead Season Two should be a feels train. I also got Wasteland 2 (and got the first one for free!). I bought some Payday 2 DLC as well, since I play that a fair bit. There will be more, I am sure, but I am trying to be reasonable given that I also splurged on a PS4 the other day. Need to find a way to make money on these purchases to cover my losses!

Madame Adequate
06-23-2014, 05:56 AM
Let's see, I've bought Dynasty Warriors 8, Bulletstorm, Shadowrun Returns, Call of Juarez, and The Wolf Among Us. Plus Xenonauts came out but I'd bought that years ago when it was first announced.

The Wolf Among Us is a masterpiece. I picked it up to get some Telltale while waiting for the next Walking Dead, but now I'm going to be playing TWD to pass the time between TWAU episodes.

Bulletstorm is even more of a classic and contains some of the finest art in history, expressed in the twin mediums of gore and cussing.

DW8 is, well, Dynasty Warriors. If you're expecting anything groundbreaking there I don't know what to tell you. It is, however, DW with ridiculous amounts of content and about as well as the game has been done since DW4 back in the day so yeah.

Not tried the other two yet. Too busy with Xenonauts.

e; Titan Quest and Mountain Blade are both on sale. Get them. TQ is the best ARPG between Diablo 2 and Torchlight, whilst Mountain Blade is the best medieval combat simulator ever made, with the possible exception of Chivalry because Chivalry has a WAR SCREAM button.

Psychotic
06-23-2014, 07:16 AM
Yeah I picked up Mount and Blade, I've seen a GoT mod for it and I fucking have to get stuck into that. And all I can say is thank smurf I saw an LP of The Wolf Among Us or I'd snaff that too. And don't tempt me with your Dynasty Warriors talk :colbert:

The worst or possibly best thing is that it was payday on Friday. Hmm, payday, maybe I should buy Payd.... NO. NO NO NO NO GOD DAMN IT.

Jiro
06-23-2014, 10:55 AM
I recommend the GoT mod for Mount and Blade. Heard terrible things about the PC version of Dynasty Warriors, but... maybe.

Dr Unne
06-23-2014, 07:55 PM
Dark Souls for $4. :O The PC port sucks a bit but there's a good patch someone threw together to make it not suck, search for dsfix.

FTL for $4 - also an amazing game. You run your own spaceship while bad guys chase you, kind of like a weird Star Trek episode. Each game is randomly generated and there are tons of new ships to unlock. This game is hard, and doing well takes learning and skill. Beating it for the first time was very rewarding.

Psychotic

Possibly too late with this one but if you see this in the next 18 minutes then Awesomenauts for 99 cents is an absolute steal. I've easily poured 80 hours ito it and I'm certainly not done having fun with it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/204300/

Yes FTL is awesome. I absolutely suck at the game, but it is sooo fun.

I picked up Sanctum 2 and Castle Crashers cause my brother and friend got them both today, using up the rest of my steam wallet. Hopefully there isn't really anything else I need cause I'm so broke right now. D:

I also love FTL and was so proud of myself when I beat it on "easy" mode!

I got Papers Please, Wolf Among Us, and The Walking Dead Season Two (I know I ranted about being sick of zombies in the unpopular pop culture opinion thread, but the game series of The Walking Dead is the ONLY exception to that opinion of mine).

Been playing Wolf Among Us and cleared Chapter 2 earlier. Very good game so far. I may or may not catch all the way up in the next day or two.

I also suck at FTL, but yeah it's brilliant. Dat soundtrack, good stuff.

Today I bought Fallout 3 GOTY, it's not on the main page but it's a little cheaper than Fallout New Vegas which is, and in my opinion nowhere near as good as 3. Also I'm certain New Vegas has been cheaper in previous sales.

Today's deals:

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - 50% off
The Banner Saga - 50% off
Bioshock Infinite - 75% off
Kerbal Space Program - 40% off
Batman: Arkham Origins - 75% off
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - 50% off
Endless Space - 75% off
Child of Light - 25% off
Company of Heroes 2 - 75% off

Arkham Origins is a steal at that price, as is Endless Space is that's your thing.

I've bought Next Car Game as that looks badass, and I'm tempted by Company of Heroes 2 although reviews have been mixed for that one. Also that would take my total spending for this sale to nearly £50, which I probably shouldn't be doing.

Don't bother with Rome 2. They made a bunch of bad design decisions and it's just not very good. See if Shogun 2, Medieval 2, or the original Rome TW are on sale instead, they're all great Total War games.

Shadowrun Returns Deluxe
Valdis Story: Abyssal City

The Witcher 2
One Way Heroics

Total $42.73. Not many regrets, other than my ever-growing backlog. But I actually already beat Eversion and I'm halfway through Valdis Story. And a lot of these are short little platformers.

I purchased:

21st:
Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine

22nd:
Defying Gravity Extended
UnEpic
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII
Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
One Way Heroics

23rd:
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
FTL: Faster Than Light
Tomb Raider
Risk of Rain

I also purchased Age of Empires II: HD Edition, though I bought it from Amazon since it was $2.49 for the base game and the expansion, which was better than the Steam deal at the time. So far, I have only put in time to UnEpic, which is a solidly entertaining game with fairly intuitive controls. The "hero" is pretty annoying and the writing is less witty than it wants you to believe. I've played a bit of One Way Heroics, which is an amazing game at its core and should provide a good deal of entertainment.
