That basically sums up my feelings on the series in general. I mean, the whole saiyan saga is cool and fun, but I liked the series the best in the beginning when the martial arts was just one aspect of it. You had adventure, and gadgetry, and zany characters like Emperor Pilaf. It felt more fun and silly.

Which did happen in both GT and Battle of Gods. GT was from 1996-1997 and Battle of Gods is brand new.

GT was the worst thing I ever watched. Battle of the Gods is so new I haven't bothered to watch it yet. :C

I would love to have those capsules. I use to pretend old batteries were capsules and I would throw them when I wanted to have a space ship or a motor bike or a couch fort.

- Talk
- Fight
- Charge

I was waiting for an English dub of Battle of the Gods before I watch it. It's getting a few theatrical releases here! I think it will be enjoyable, and I'm all for Pilaf being in it. That doesn't excuse the fact that he and his crew just don't exist in rest of DBZ though. I can say I REALLY like seeing Pilaf in the first episode of GT. That stuff is great, but the rest of the series from what I've seen is pretty much garbage.

Which is odd as you seem to go for comedy and GT tried to combine Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z in their aspects.

It tries, but I don't think it succeeds generally. To be fair, it's been ages since I've watched any of GT so my perspective might be skewed on it. Dragonball is the only bit of the shows that I consider actually good though. DBZ is pretty enjoyable for nostalgia's sake for me. GT I just remember finding pretty dull of the episodes I had seen. I'll still probably sit down and watch all of GT someday just to say I did since I've only probably seen like 20 episodes or less.

The only thing that can be really said about it in a negative way is:


It very much recycles some episodes
It does not take itself to serious which causes inconsistencies or simply unexplained moments but if we go for that, DB and DBZ cannot happen anyway

I don't like Dragonball because of Bulma. I want to punch her right in her face much more than I did in Z. She makes the show so unbearable to me

I know I know everyone disagrees and that's okay

Bulma was a Harpy in the original DB, but I think she was just Toriyama's idea of a teenage girl.
