Are there any directors whose movies or tv shows you always have to watch? Are there any who you think have never directed a bad thing? Let us discuss directors, EoFF!

Here are my favorites:
Wes Anderson
Coen Brothers
Hayao Miyazaki
Satoshi Kon
Tarantino

Alfred Hitchcock (there are like a grand total of two cuts in "Rope") (also "Psycho" is like... I don't even know it's too good)

Also serious props to James Cameron, I might not like every single thing he does but he is still incredibly talented IMO

Hayao Miyazaki
Satoshi Kon

Miyazaki is the obvious one and I completely agree. Satoshi Kon is overlooked by many, but he was a great director and he's done some great films. Shame he's moved on to another world :(

Wes Anderson
Martin Scorsese
Quentin Tarantino
Joel and Ethan Coen
Hayao Miyazaki
Tim Burton
Stephen Spielberg (he gave us Indiana Jones and ET, okay)

Wes Anderson can do no wrong. None.

I do like the little I've seen of Tim Burton and Stanley Kubrick. Martin Scorsese is next on my list of directors to get obsessed with after I finish up the Coen Brothers and Tarantino though!

I wanted to list John Huston but I've only seen two of his films but I love them implicitly. Same for Ed Wood.

Steven Spielberg. I remember all his films from when I was a kid and yeah, love em. Jurassic Park man.

If I have to be all film-geeky then I adore Wong Kar Wai's new wave movies.

Christopher Nolan is my favourite Director, Im saddened that no one else has mentioned him. I enjoy every movie where he writes and directs. Inception is my favourite movie ever. Before him it was Steven Spielberg because of exposure from youth.

Martin Scorsese and Tarintino are also up there.

I also love the cinematography in Joe Wright films. The long takes in Hanna, Atonement, and Pride and Predjudice are beautifully shot and timed.

Wes Anderson
Hayao Miyazaki
Quentin Tarantino
David Cronenberg
Lars von Trier

Probably others but I don't always know what directors have directed my favourite movies!
