Did you challenge the summons?

Not only did this game introduce summoners but the concept of challenging some of them to gain their power, of course you could also just reach the bottom of Eureka and buy Odin, Leviathan, and Bahamut, so my question is did you beat the summons to gain their power or did you buy them after slugging through Eureka?

Though Odin, in particular, taught me that it wasn't always the best of ideas, I totally picked a fight with every summon as soon as I was able since I was exploring everything anyway. Finding and fighting the three hidden summons was one of my favorite parts of the game, as I wasn't expecting it in an NES title.

It's been awhile, but I believe I did challenge and beat them all. It was challenging and fun!

Naturally. Didn't hurt that Bahamut's cave was a good place for exp even in the NES version, either.

I've done it in the DS version, haven't quite taken down Bahamut yet in the NES version but when I stop being lazy and finish the game I'll get it done.
