Dark Knight Cecil looked more badass, but Paladin Cecil was total hotness.

Paladin Cecil, from a gameplay aspect, was more useful in almost every way... Almost... He had higher stats, more power, and white magic, but I sure did miss that incredibly useful darkness ability after he went through the change. It was almost useful enough to wish I could have kept him as a Dark Knight in spite of everything else. Almost...

Story wise, Paladin Cecil is awesome.

Gameplay wise, I really, really miss Darkness.

The DS version lets you put Darkness on Paladin Cecil. Though Kain makes much better use of it.

Level 1. But unless you've been grinding your ass off, you get a HP boost in the deal, and your Vitality goes straight through the roof.

And besides, your low level means you'll gain 12 levels before you're halfway back down the mountain.
