FFXII can get out, FFII was the original Star Wars FF game

The game's plot was thought by some reviewers to mirror elements of Star Wars: A New Hope in its use of an orphan joining a rebellion against an empire that was building a massive ship, with a captive princess inside.

This had actually never occurred to me before! Did anyone else see this connection?

This is scary, because if I warm up to XII the second time around then it would be exactly the same as my experience with II.
