What games do you find really "comfy" to play?

The one that really comes to mind for me is Skyrim. I tend to play it in the wintertime, so I'll get all comfy with blankets and play it while it snows outside and also on my screen :3:

Minecraft is another game that can be pretty comfy, especially when you're playing it in... whatever the one that isn't survival mode is called (it's been too long since I've played this game)

Final Fantasy VIII would probably be this for me. Either that or Sonic 2.

Animal Crossing. Actraiser. A Link to the Past. Super Mario World.

There's probably more, but that's all I can think of for now.

Lately Team Fortress 2. It doesn't sound relaxing, but there's just something cathartic about leading that perfect shot to put an arrow through someone's eye.

I like to settle down and get comfortable whenever rolling up a new session in Civilization games ^_^

A Link to the Past. Used to do this with the metroid series, too. Basically any game that has good mood-setting music works for me, though.

You would find a game of spreadsheets relaxing wouldn't you.

I would, yes. But the amount of spreadsheet work in that game isn't as high as you'd think... FFXIV is probably marginally more focused on spreadsheet work when I'm actively crafting / playing the markets.

Well out of the games I've been playing recently FFVII would probably be the only one that would come close to qualifying for this. Dayz is just way too much on your the edge of your seat paranoia all the time. and Titanfall is obviously a fast paced pvp FPS.

Most RPG's, adventure or sim-type game is good for me. Civilization V has been great, but I usually lose track of a large amount of time.

Flower and Journey do it for me. Straightforward gameplay, but nonetheless endlessly replayable, deeply beautiful and eminently enjoyable.

Every now and then I think, "I've got a few mintues to spare, so I'll just play one level." Nek minnit, an hour or so has gone by and I've replayed the entire game yet again. Those games are just so familiar, comfortable and inviting.

This, and the original Zelda, despite its difficulty.

A lot of Mario games also fall under this, as do the Marathon games. Nostalgia helps a lot.
