>>> I have been playing this game and it was kind of.. you know not like FF at all.
I could bear the gameplay but it was not something that I enjoyed, then I got into this sort of military academy (it reminded me FF8) but Balam Garden was fun compared to this place (you know, they had troublesome people like Squall and Seifer). The people there were like a bunch of zombies, or clones.. Then they give me an entire class under my command, hell when I play RPGs I barely care about developing one or two characters and now they give me an entire class.. Then they tell me about completing missions.. This reminded me when I played another terrible game called "God Eater" and for a moment I felt like I was playing God Eater again :(..
Ok, SE has really lost its way big time now, they didnt learn anything with FF13 and they never will..
I wonder if anyone feel this way.. :luca:

Piracy isn't very nice.

>>> Pirate bad games that you will never enjoy and they would be a total waste of money if you actually payed for them.. Is alright for me..:luca:

Actually, the fan translation isn't piracy. It's only a patch for the files. Obtaining the ISO files is piracy, but that has no direct relation to the fan translation, who only supports getting the ISO by ripping them off the disc directly (which is legal).

I think you're completely wrong about the game. I'm enjoying the gameplay, and absolutely loving the world, characters, and game focus. It doesn't have any of FFXIII's problems. It's not perfect, but it is ruddy brilliant.

Yes I am aware of the technicalities. I might try the game out myself at some point, if I can just find a way to buy and rip the umd, that is. Or, is this the game that was eventually going to get a ps4 port?

Developing a whole class of characters sounds pretty fun, actually. I'll wait for an official release though. Hopefully they port it to Vita.

See, I'm going to be buying the official release, but I see no problem with playing the translation in the meantime.

I just don't have time to play it twice.

It's a spinoff, no? I wouldn't expect it to play like a traditional Final Fantasy game as most of the spinoffs don't.

Yeah the ff in the name is misleading. It should have just been a new IP. 15 years ago if this game had come out it would have just been another solid RPG from square and had nothing to do with ff. I think with bravely default they are going back in that direction but this game was made during that period where they had to put the ff name on every damn thing they made.

It actually has connections to the mythology surrounding the FNC XIII collection, for instance it has l'Cie and Focus and the gods but its a very different and frankly superior version of it from what XIII tried to accomplish.

While I haven't played the full version I spent some time with the demo and can say I feel like its a return to form of the PS1 era FFs with lots of cinematic moments weaved into the dungeons. Combat was not ideal but since it was a demo I'm hoping that mechanics that weren't shown will fix that issue. It was a surprisingly dark game for what I actually got to see. It was kind of like XII's opening took up to 11 in terms of showing the horror of war.

Yeah it's connected to XIII but different? I would try it but I don't have a psp or even a ps4 :(

If it's anything like FFVIII I'll play it ^^ I've actually always liked school themed settings, maybe because I'm still a university student. I suspect in 10yrs time I wont like rpg school setting games as much though, just like I don't like playing 13 - 15yo kid characters that save the world in games lol

i'm like 29 and I still find them acceptable, as long as the games are well-designed

I see what you did there, Spooniest :p

Hopefully there are no Type 0's in any of the English translations xD

Not really long at all now until this game :D you're not going to bring my hype down, black orb! (:luca:)
