I've only ever been to one concert in my life. :o Shocking I know! So, tell me all about the music concerts you've been too - which bands/singers have you seen live etc?

I have been to Arctic Monkeys, Brand New, M. Ward, Tokyo Police Club, Of Montreal x3, Janelle Monae, Lady Gaga, Dresden Dolls, Murder by Death, We Are Scientists, and some others probably. Seeing Gogol Bordello and Neutral Milk Hotel soon.

I saw Evanescence live in 2007. The opening acts were Sick Puppies and Julien K. After the show I was able to meet Sick Puppies and get them to autograph my tickets. It was a good show!

Despite having a huge love of music I've never been to any other concert.

I've only ever been to one. An Avril Lavigne one because my aunt thought I was in to her. I wasn't :(

With that being said, she was actually very good live. And its on my list of things to do this year, is go see another concert. So that would be great!

First was this little festival when I was about ten, various not very famous bands were playing such as Art Brut, Tat, Raging Speedhorn, etc.

Then I saw The Prodigy and Dizzee Rascal. Saw The Streets. I've seen NOFX three times, I've seen F**ked Up twice. Recently saw Cerebral Ballsy. Various other bands over time. I like concerts!

I want to see Against Me! more than anything right now.

Bryan Adams, when I was around 13 or so - It was alright. I idolised him, but a standing concert was certainly not my thing at the time. I know others who were not as into Bryan Adams enjoyed it a lot more than I did.
Simple Minds, when I got to the UK - It was alright.
Def Leppard, in the first couple of years in the UK - It was amazing. Really great.
Emma's Imagination, a few years back - it felt more like a gig than a concert, a more intimate affair than the previous ones.
Distant Worlds, last year - incredible. Despite having, I suspect, more people there than when I was at most of the previous concerts, it felt more intimate than any of them. The songs were powerful, the atmosphere was amazing, everything was just perfect. I just wish it could have kept going.

In order of preference: Distant Worlds > Def Leppard >>> Simple Minds > Emma's Imagination > Bryan Adams. Despite all that, Bryan Adams remains one of my favourite singers and I think I'd appreciate a live concert with him now far more than I did back then.

If I could go to any concert at this point, it would probably be another Distant Worlds one or perhaps - if it were possible - Ed Sheeran on a small scale gig (ie, one room, easy access to the bar, etc). I'm not a huge concert person, really. I do like gigs at bars and stuff, though, where you can talk your way through without people getting pissed off at you and you have your own table. :p

No changes since that post! :shobon:

Iron Maiden (Twice, 2006 with Trivium and 2011 with Airbourne) Heaven & Hell ((2007, with Lamb of God who hold the title of worst live band I've seen, wall of noise... and Iced Earth, Heaven & Hell is just Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio)) Yngwie Malmsteen ((2008)) Scorpions ((with MSG supporting, 2008)) Wishbone Ash ((band called the Hamsters supported them, 2008)) Saxon ((3 times 2009 with Doro Pesch supporting, 2011 with Wolfsbane and Fury UK supporting, 2013 with The Quireboys supporting)) Judas Priest ((Twice, 2009 with Testament and Megadeth, 2011 with Queensryche)) Metallica ((2009 with Machine Head and Sword supporting)) Motorhead ((Four times, 2009 with Girlschool and the Damned, 2010 with Michael Monroe and Skew Siskin, 2011 with UK Subs and the Anti Nowhere Leagye, 2012 with Anthrax)) Turisas ((2010 with Chthonic and Kiuas)) Epica ((2012)) Wintersun ((2013)) Airbourne ((2013))

I saw Sum 41 because my sister liked them and my parents got me a ticket too.
I saw Lady Gaga because I love Lady Gaga and I don't think there will be many things I see in my life that top the sheer amount of showmanship she put into every facet of that concert. I may be remembering things better than they were.
I saw Distant Worlds which was gr8. Final Fantasy music, what more could I want?

I think I didn't go to a concert until like 3 or 4 years ago. It was an Ellie Goulding one (my friend fancies her) other than that I've been to Electric Six every year since then (they are super cheap and fun and local) and some smaller gigs by local bands. I never really bothered with live music until recently and now I want to go to all the gigs I can because its a ton of fun

An ex once dragged me to a Jason Mraz concert. After about ten minutes the presence of so many people was too much for me so I left and, having no entertainment to hand, wandered around in front of the concert hall for the next two or three hours in the cold.

When she had no particular concern for me and didn't even ask whether I was okay, whilst her best friend was much more attentive and concerned about my wellbeing, that I should have realized she wasn't for me but instead I was a teenager and thus an idiot for a long time to follow.

Anyway that's it, I prefer the careful mastery offered by studio work to the flaws of live performances and I can't handle being in the middle of a crowd for any length of time, so I've never been to another one and I doubt I ever will.

The only big name I've seen is Tool. It was bad though 'cause I had the worst seat ever. The highest top row furthest to the left. It was impossible to see the stage, I was sort of behind it. I go to see local bands in town on a weekly basis, that's a lot more fun for me.

I'm not much of a concert goer. Do ACL and SXSW stuff count? If not, then I've really only been to one, which was Beach House. They played at a venue called The House of Blues. :D

They had an opening act--a solo act named Dustin Wong who does a lot of experimental music and often performs in Japan (he's apparently half-Chinese half-Japanese and is fluent in the latter). I thought it was cute, and my best friend found it very amusing... so much so that toward the end of his set, in-between songs, my friend randomly yelled out, "WILL YOU DATE MY FRIEND?!" We were very near the front and center, so yeah, he heard that. I was mortified. I hid my face behind my hands, so I didn't see Dustin's reaction, but according to my bff, he just smiled and blushed.

During Beach House's set, we kept hearing people request the song "Take Care" behind us. Like, okay, it's a good song, but why the huge need? They finally did play it toward the end of the show, and as they did, we heard cheering and gasps and stuff right behind us (the place was standing room only, btw), and we turned to see a guy on one knee, proposing to his girlfriend. Cute.

Also, we drank. Pretty good night.

Remembering back to seeing The Prodigy it's quite funny thinking about it - we were seated because there were no more standing tickets left. At one point I accidentally spilled my drink on the two people in front of us and they looked really angry and mean at me so I cried really loads for like the whole first half hour, my brother was annoyed so started trying to have a fight with them until we calmed him down. Weird times! But then it was a good concert after that :greenie:

One day I will see a show with Nicky!

I've seen somewhere between 60-70 bands live, I think. Big ones I can think of without looking at my list are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, The Used, Jenny Lewis, Jenny and Johnny, Heartless Bastards, Marilyn Manson, KoRn, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Handsome Furs, Peter Murphy, Gogol Bordello, She Wants Revenge, Cursive, Arcade Fire, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Jeff Mangum, Panic! At the Disco, fun., Placebo, Voltaire. I'm sure I'm missing some, and there are bunches of secondary bands mixed into the numbers as well, with a lot of repeat performances on Alkaline Trio, Voltaire, Handsome Furs, Heartless Bastards, Death Cab, Jeff Mangum, etc.

I love live shows, but as I get older (that sounds so lame) I find that I don't really want to put up with the crowds, hassle, or ticket pricing anymore. I'm going to see Brand New finally later this year after waiting thirteen years to see them. After that, my bucket list only contains The Cure, David Bowie and Fall Out Boy.

I've been to two concerts over at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO. One by Garth Brooks when he was on tour back in 2007 and another by Kid Rock last February. Both were all right. A whole bunch. Not many recently, though.

Since 2007 I've gone to a big music festival every summer and so I've probably seen over a hundred bands through that, and then there's a few more that I've taken the time to go and see at their actual shows.

The last actual show I went to was probably Andrew W.K. a year or so ago, and before that I saw Red Hot Chili Peppers for the second time. I'd list the lot but it'd take too long and I'm incredibly lazy.

Spice Girls- 26th Row (this was right after Geri left)
Blink 182- Front Row, right in front of Mark Hoppus
(and with them was New Found Glory & Midtown opening)

Hanson - Grass Seats
El Trono de Mexico - No assigned seating, but I met the band right before they went on stage & got my pic taken with the lead singer ha. And then my ex attempted to teach me how to dance like they do. :D
El Chapo de Sinaloa- again, no assigned seating, but he did his entire set riding his horses and I got to pet one of them when he "danced" it over to our bit of the fence.

At River Stages in Nashville, I saw:
Garbage
Hoobastank
No Doubt
Erykah Badu
Jack Johnson
Counting Crows
and some other people

Rock The Mic:
50 Cent
Snoop Dogg (I -think-. Could be wrong)
Bonecrusher
Busta Rhymes
T.I.
.... I forget who else. I was really smurfed up when we got there and I don't remember much of it.

I'd kill to see Bjork in concert.. And Garbage again, with better seats. There was no assigned seating at River Stages, but we were stuck far away nonetheless.

VAMPS

If I could trade lives with one person in this thread, it would be Sephex.

(Plenty, I'm sure!)

The first non-free not-for-babies musical performance I ever attended was Bob Dylan in Bakersfield in like 2005 and it didn't really do much for me!
