David Gilmour's wife Polly Samson nonchalantly broke the news on Twitter (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/pink-floyd-to-release-first-new-album-in-20-years-this-fall-20140706). The album will contain parts recorded by Richard Wright in 1994. There's no news of Waters being involved, unfortunately, but at least Gilmour and Mason are also involved.

It will probably be like the other album albums without Waters: A mix of good tracks and duds. The good tracks will have a very different feel to them, but still manage to evoke the spirit of Pink Floyd. It's cool that they preserved stuff from Wright.

Hopefully they haven't gone the 'Biggie Smalls' route and just decided to start releasing stuff that was cut from their actual studio albums for the very good reason that it was guff. That said, I can imagine that if any band has hours of unused recordings that are actually pretty decent, it's Pink Floyd.

"The Division Bell" was awful. Why would I expect them to be better 20 years later?

I haven't liked anything after The Final Cut.

I quite like The Division Bell, so hopefully I'll one of the ones who is pleasantly surprised.

I really liked the track Money but other than that Pink Floyd never did anything for me in the slightest. A very overrated band in my opinion.

The fact that they're releasing a new album makes me about as excited as a eunuch in a brothel.
